Mitchell Johnston would be right in this scenario, he could just tee up his missus to join them in the car park and shed kick the crap outta anyone. :hihi :hihi

I'm leaning towards tosser. What sort of wanker still wants to sort it out behind the grandstand?

Jesus christ. Navy agrees with Tim.

A heap of words get said in high level cricket. But only tossers of the absolute highest order resort to childish words taking it behind the grandstand.
It also means he's clearly defeated.

Prior is reknowned sledger, which is fine. But its now clear he isnt good on the receiving end which will be good for the aussies to know.

On that, Its also clear Ponting has thought that if his captaincy is to go down its going to be doing it his way. No more nice Australian team. Its clear he's given the green light to his side to not put up with the constant sledging from Prior, Anderson, Pietersen et al & to give it back in large doses. Good on Siddle for taking up his part of the fight to Prior.

Poms are terrible. How did we ever lose to them?

Whilst there is a large dose of JB sarcasm here, there is a good element of truth.

This pommie side are not world beaters, have big holes in the side & werent/arent capable of consistently beating Australia.

If Melbourne dishes up a wicket with a bit of life expect the same result. Apart from Bell who has the best technique in both sides the English middle order will continue to fail if the MCG isnt a road.

Trott, Pietersen & Collingwood's techniques mean they will always struggle against the moving ball. They are OK at places like Adelaide where they cant plant the front foot forward & work the bat from there. When there is latish swing the can all expect very short stays at the crease.

Thats not to say Australia dont have issues either. But the poms have more for the rest of this series if the curators do the right thing.

& if Australia do win this series it will be one of/if not the most rewarding of all for those involved after (nearly) all & sundry wrote this series off as a one sided affair.

I agree too. What Prior did is the kind of thing we like the aussies doing.

Its one thing to sledge, dont think having a sulky la la once your dismissed, about fighting someone after the match is something many would be proud of.

Australia now know if thats the way he reacts he can rightly expect the short balls & words to be turned up about 200 notches.

if our bowlers can continue to bring it in to the pommie right handers i expect them to play at a lot more wider ones and nicks to go behind

It's alright Navy. Tis Christmas after all but I'm sure you'll recover in the New Year.

Chappell & Botham come to mind.

Right, those type of wankers. Speaking of Botham, have you ever read his autobiog? Similar to Warnes ie "it wasnt my fault! i was misunderstood, i'm right, he was wrong".

Leysey, why does sport have to be so PC.
I want my sport to be a battle, have a bit of mongrel, a bit of colour.
I want to love superstars and hate the bad guys

All this role model crap doesnt belong in sport. Politicians and Nobel Winners should be moral and great people, sportsman should just try to win

Still having a decent sook.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/cricket/matt-prior-siddle-annoyed-me-but-i-didnt-challenge-him-to-a-punchup-2165525.html

'Peter Siddle, the Australian fast bowler, had launched a short-pitched round-the-wicket attack. He got me out – luckily, maybe, as the ball trickled off my body on to the stumps, but out still. As I left he said something which annoyed me. It doesn't matter what he said but once you have dismissed somebody you have done the job on them.

There are not many boxing matches when a guy knocks someone out and then kicks him while he's on the floor. That isn't the way it works. I didn't enjoy him getting me out but I don't think there was a need for him to say anything after that. Having said that I didn't need to react in the way I did.'

I don't see that as being a sook (what you have quoted there anyway, haven't read the rest of it via the link).

He didn't appreciate what Siddle said, thought it was out of place, but admitted his own reaction was out of place.

Another win in the Ryobi for the Tigers over WA. Congratulations to my mate Matty Day on his debut for Tassie, picked up the key wicket of North for five :P

I see North's back in form. Next match I expect he'll crack double figures.
