Was a great cricketer but l wouldn't get much enjoyment in reading his book.

He was good.

I think I have posted this before, but I went to the MCG just to see him play in a test. He was in awesome form at the time, so there was a huge sense of anticipation.

I had to sit through the most mind numbing batting I have ever seen from Tavare, then finally late in the day Botham came in to bat.

And what did he do, made 4.

Botham and Warne have something in common. They were able to turn matches with the force of their will. Very impressive to do it at that level.

Botham like Warne has also chalked up a few off field runs.

Heard an interview with the curator this morning.

Sounds like we should expect a typical MCG wicket.

His words (slightly paraphrased) "The WACA on its worst day has more pace and bounce in it than an MCG wicket".

Things aren't going to well over here at the moment cricket wise, but they aren't that bad.

He'd be about the 4th best at district level.

Best spinner by a mile though.
Mickey Arthur doesn't seem to have made much of an impact on the WA side?

Probably not mb, not even!

Might take a bit of time to get his confidence back and reach the level he was before....average
Thankfully we won't see him in the Aust side again.

Interesting england put Aus in. Takes away a lot of the advantage of Swan bowling last. Strauss obviously has concerns about his batting lineup.

Also that Bresnan replaced Finn in the attack.

Presumably to boost the batting as Finn is a better bowler.

Aus need to get through to lunch say 2 down. the pitch will flatten right out as the bowlers tire.

As navy types Hughes throws his wicket away. 2/37.

Not sure why/how Hughes is playing either.

Navy has long said his technique wont stand up to test cricket. That is playing out true.
