An article in the Sun says Ponting is getting fined "40% of his match fee (about 54,000 AUD)".

Can that be right? Does he earn get paid 135,000 AUD per TEST ?
No wonder he wants to play on & be skipper

I'd certainly be tapping Ricky on the shoulder skipper.
Not much point being the sixth best test team in the world with a 36year old captain horribly out of form.
Might as well be the 8th best with a young team in full rebuild mode.
It's well time for that.

I agree.ToO.If anything Pontings behavior yesterday indicates to me that he knows his time is up.I don,t mind that he gets the chance to have a "goodbye" match in Sydney.
Its just a pity that he,s going out with A team that would be lucky to defeat a shefield side atm instead of what should have been done after the ashes in England and going out knowing he,s leaving the side in good shape for the future.

Will Hughes, Ponting or Clarke make a 50 this innings?

Not even expecting 50 between them to be honest.

Well done to Peter Siddle who took 6 wickets & bowled great on his home deck.Happy l took the 4/1 on offer for him being the leading Aust bowler in the innings.

taking risky singles when you are playing for a draw , smart..
Yep.No so smart again by Watson when it comes to judging a run. He,s turning out to the current version of Graham Wood/Rick Darling.

Ryan Harris has a stress fracture in his ankle which is likely to require surgery. So 8 wickets left and a bowler down..

Yes, it will be tough for England to snatch a draw from here.

Id say he,ll come in last Drop if needed[More than likely].If by some miracle To0 we make the Poms bat again it would be them chasing something under 50 or so,therefore no great significance in regards to the 2nd innings and Harris,s injury.

He'll probably only bat if we have some sort of lead otherwise it is pointless.
