Apparently the fracture in his finger has 'moved'.
Given his moderate return with the bat last Test one has to question the wisdom of the decision to play.
May not see the former champ again in the baggy green one feels.

- How is it possible for the ACB to arrange a schedule that has the touring team settle into the country before the hosts. Who in this case were playing meaningless one-day games against India.
- How is it possible for a ball to start reversing just 12 overs into an innings but we struggle to get reverse at all.
- How is it possible for a coach to be re-appointed for 3 years just months before the two biggest series' i.e the Ashes & World Cup.
A lot of questions for ACB to answer.

Think we've got problems. NZ 4 for 3 (yes that's 4 wickets for 3 runs) in a home 20/20 against Pakistan. All of the first four in the order made ducks!

It is what it is. We don't play another Test until August, during which time our players will dine on the World cup and a feast of T20s. It doesn't matter what side we pick going into Sydney, England will spank us and we won't be in a fit frame of mind come August anyway. This is going to get a lot worse before (if) it comes better.
Just to touch on a couple of points.
The only reason i believe that England sent Australia in on Boxing Day had nothing to do with the pitch, it had all to do with Australia being mentally weak with the bat. The Poms knew that if they took 2-3 wickets before lunch it was all over and the Ashes was theirs. Australia wouldve sent England in to bat too, who cares if they make 600, if they do the test will be drawn and we will try and win it in Sydney.
I wouldn't have Hilfy in, does nothing with it.
I have egg on my face over Hussey, in saying that i still think he shouldve retired 12 months ago. Yes he has been our best batsmen and if he wasn't in the side we wouldve been 4-nil down right now but i think that wouldve been a better result for Australian Cricket going forward.
Heads have to roll off field, no one is standing up to take any blame for the current mess unless i have missed something today (birth of our second child and I needed some sleep). We need someone strong right now, someone to grab the bull by the horns and not these current clowns that have had an armchair ride due to previous talent.

Not harsh enough Archy, only one i'd keep would be Chappell. Sutherland, Hilditch, Cox, Boon, Neilson...gone.

Ponting is not strong enough to stand up to the ACB and say this is what is needed - its all about the money they get for playing pyjama cricket.
Like all professional endeavors you have to do the 1%ters in the basic training so they come natural in the real action. Australian Cricket has stopped doing this and the results are we have test quality players (Batsmen & Bowlers) who are under prepared and therefore can't perform at their best in a Test match.
Now with 4 tests completed we should be hitting our peak but England has our guys psyched out - and we are just rabbits in the headlights for them. Hopefully the Pommes got on the turps celebrating and will be hung-over for Sydney?
I'm not jaded at the cricket though Willo - I reckon it is a good thing that Australia cops a few hidings - even if it is from the arch enemy - as we were getting way too arrogant and some of the antics during our all conquering run suggested we needed to be brought down a peg or two. Warne and Ponting were the worst at it when we won the Ashes 4 or 5 years ago in England.
PS Smith will turn out OK - he is being blooded for the future - Hilffy and Clarke are not performing anywhere near their best and must be close to a please explain - Clarke needs a ton in the Sydney test to maintain his long term captaincy aspirations..........
