Good price at that stage mate.

Good little partnership here that will give Aus something to bowl at. Strauss' tactics baffling. Tactically he can lack as a captain.

Kallis scored 161 in the 3rd test against India overnight which could decide the No 1 crown. What a greatly underestimated cricketer he is. A true great. Deserves to be ranked alongside Tendulkar, Ponting & Lara as a modern batting legend.

Kallis is 35,can't see why Ponting if he goes down to no 6 can't start making big runs again.

I've always been a big Kallis fan. Agree he is underrated.

Not sure if he's underrated, purists would have always admired his talent. From my view he's just not really liked in Australia...
he's a South African cricketer!

BTW, Hilf and Johnson have the largest partnership of the innings (second Highest was 55 from the openers). Way to go lads.

Kallis isn't regarded quite as highly as those others because he's an accumulator rather than a stroke player. Plus he has been a selfish player over his career which tends not to endear him to people.

Gee Haddin gets out to some loose shots away from his body with no footwork.

Tim Paine is already a more sound, compact batsmen. The change must happen in the next 12 months.

When Mitch Johnson gets going, boy does he get them clean. Don't mind him going down swinging.

Usually when he makes runs he gets wickets

Nothing wrong with being a selfish cricketer. You may not become a favourite but i've always been coached to be a selfish batsman. If I make runs I contribute, others follow.

Well done Mitch, gives hime something to bowl at.

I can't agree with this. Haddin, along with Hussey, Watson and to a lesser extent, Siddle, is clearly one of our best. As for the others, with the exception of Khawaja, I reckon they're all expendable.

In addition Paine has the potential to be a leader & is also already a better keeper than haddin.

Haddin is in his 30's,is no great keeper, his batting is very inconsistent & he's in his 30's.lf we want to get back to the top of the tree we need to make tough decisions.Paine is young, talented, good bat & keeper & potential captain. He's the future not Haddin.

Tendulkar, Dravid and Kallis are in their 30s.

I'm happy to refresh the team, but let's begin where the pain is - Ponting, Clarke, Smith (not the answer), Hilfy, Johnson.... I don't reckon Haddin has missed one in the past 3 tests and has kept and batted better than Prior (Prior missed a sitter in Melbourne).

Prior's no yard stick l&d, not much of a keeper at all.
