Been raining all morning in Hobart apparently. Covers only off not long before the match.

Looks to be a bit in the wicket early doors so wont be easy batting so good toss to win.

You get on the poms mb?
Yep,they came in a bit Navy, took the $2.02 on offer.

You said Hodge shouldn't be picked because he had technique problems that exposed him away from the top of the order.

Navy never said Hodge had technical problems. His strength lies in making runs against pace bowling early doors when the field is up & then pacing his innings from there. He has also had issues when first coming in against slow bowling on slower pitches where he has to make the pace of the ball.

The earlier he's been in the order the better he's performed in the one day game. Do you think thats just coincidence?

On navy's comment about sub-continent pitches being not as testing on a batsmans technique. Thought it was pretty obvious when navy mentioned seam & bounce in that post he was referring to playing pace bowling.

Do you also think thats not true re: technique?

Geez Navy, if you knew this insight why didnt you put your hard earned on the Poms?

Um, obviously had not seen the pitch so ergo had no idea there would be a lot of life in it early. Nor that Aus would be batting first on it if there was.

Navy & the followers dont build up a record like we have by taking chances & betting blind. In those instances we just keep our exceedingly large profits in our pocket.

Marsh making a monkey of the selectors for not selecting him before now this summer.

Will they employ someone to neck Haddin or Clarke. ;D

In all seriousness been a great knock.

Uumm, we knew Australia was batting first BEFORE the game started. ::)

And why are you bragging about building up a record of mediocrity?

Navy knows Tim is hankering for navy to have a long lost losing bet but geez only poor old navy could cop for doing the henious crime of not putting a bet on.

Just so he knows does he now have to back every comment he makes by putting money on it?

And to think Marsh wasn't originally going to the World Cup.

And how does Steve Smith get a gig ahead of him?

Would play Marsh before Smith any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If Hussey goes then Marsh stays home doesn't he?

see how he goes for the rest of the series before getting to upset.

but it does show the value of picking guys with form, and not just picking those seen as wunderkids.
