not bad for a guy who has been out of form for a long time....

he averaged 50 against sri lanka, made 101 not out in his one innings against india & averaged 110 in england.

he has struggled in tests for a while, he hasnt in onedayers til this series.
Nothing to worry about with the pup

disagree MB. i know ur a big fan of the skipper but i think his lack of runs through the test series, and his struggles through the current one-day series are a little concerning.
i am glad tho he had such good form in one day cricket before his last few innings.

Good article by Roebuck today re Punter's decision to play on Boxing Day with a busted finger which is still causing him plenty of grief.
Now has jeopardised his WC chances.
Given our success in the ODIs I am more convinced than ever that he should move on and Clarke be given the captaincy in the longer form as well..

looks like tassie choked a little with the bat when the pressure was on.
they might have blown a whole lot of money.

Not so much choking. Tasmania have been excellent big game players in recent seasons. Its more that in 20/20 Tas have a habit of going too hard too early when there is a bit of life in the pitch. Happened a few times in the Big Bash this season now. The rain in Hobart all day was the main reason navy held off jumping on for another win on the punt. Just Need to realise that even in 20/20 there is a bit more time in the game than you think when conditions are a little tougher.

Saying that Cummins & Clark bowled extremely well. Leading wicket taker in the comp now is Cummins. Top effort from a 17 y.o

Clarke's strike rate is 77. Big-hitter White's is 82. Clarke averages 43 in a form of the game you rarely see players average above 40. Only the best top order players and red ink specialists like Bevan and M.Hussey do that. I'm not saying Clarke is the best one-day batsman in the world or even in the country. But surely, in form, he's in our best six.

His strike rate over the last 4 years, which takes in 60 one-dayers, is 70 - stats all available on crickinfo. A strike rate of 70 batting at 4 is barely acceptable. It places a little to much pressure on his partners to keep the runs ticking over. And he seems to have lost his ability to find the boundary so can almost be a liability late in the innings. But I agree that an in-form Clarke is worthy of a spot.

NSW cruched Tassie.

Feel sorry for Tassie. No Doherty and no Paine. They had a great comp given they were without those two for most of the T20.
Still a pretty poor performance from the Tassie boys

Yeah was.

Funny thing with the Big Bash is that near all the matches have been extremely one-sided. Barely any close matches at all which is "supposedly" a feature of that format.

Yeah, really slipped under the radar this kid.

Have seen him twice now and looks very very promising. Only 17 and bowling at 145km an hour!!

We have a good prospect here. Just keep him away from Troy Cooley.

I'd agree with all that too. Either Clarke is using a toothpick compared to the railway sleepers most other bats use, or he's got too skinny for his own good.

Cummins looks an excellent prospect. Unfortunately he is probably headed to the Centre of Excellence just as Cooley is set to take over the show there. That man is cricket's Jeff Gieschen.
