dont think it was deliberate. i cant believe anyone would try that in international cricket.
my guess is he didnt feel the stumps as he only just brushed them.

Dont be naive Brodders. It was a classic brain fade by Prior. He's clearly taken the bail off then walked off saying "it bowled him". Dont listen the arse covering ch9 commentary team.

Still Navy, this is not a great pump up for Clarke. Chasing this many and the field spread this should suit Clarke, push it around and get the others close. I just think it is a pretty clear sign that Clarke can't get you anymore then 3-4 a over. Worrying sign.

agree that it should have been a good chance for clarke. lots of time on a good pitch. i thought he should have come in at 3. a good chance for clarke to score a run a ball 50odd without too much pressure.

IMO Aust's game plan should be focussed around the world cup. batting ferguson at 3 isnt doing that.

Dont forget the powerplay was still well in vogue at that stage Scoop which when chasing a target like this needs to be taken full advantage of.

Perfect scenario to send Johnson in for a slap in a no loss scenario to make the target chasable. The fact he has gone on is a bonus.

Nice little trial for a tactic that could prove handy on the small sub-continent grounds. Especially with our bowling attack likely to let some big scores in.

Johnsons also a very clean striker who doesnt need a long time to be played in.

What was the go with Priors incident for those that saw it..

Johnson had a swing, missed it, ball touched the off stump on the way through. Prior caught it, knocked the bail off with his glove, then appealed for a bowled.

Didn't look good at all, the fact it did hit the stump makes it look a bit better, but he did knock the bail off then point to it very quickly. Especially since you'd guess that the bail would fall backwards (towards Prior), not forwards if indeed it had been bowled.

Quite suss, or marginally forgivable, depending on who you are.

Is indeed TOT...now who was it that was belittling Trotts ability in the ODI format?

Same person who belittled Prior's batting. ;)

On Prior, agree with those he's a cheating wanker who knew exactly what he was doing.

Top knock from Clarke this. Hopefully silence some of his knockers in this format of which plenty are on here.

Surely it wasnt you Navy? Getting something wrong? Never!

Anyway, Prior is at again! A cheating wanker is an understatement.

Fully agree on both points.

Not for long Naisy. Clarke is a quality player who still has plenty of good cricket ahead of him.

Hopefully mate.

Been a horrible run for a while now on the long version. But he has the runs on the board until the past 6 months.

He's shown he can play at the level. Wouldn't be the first quality bat to have a bad trot.
Seems to be revelling as captain in the absence of Ponting and should be given the chance skipper the Test side too IMO.
