Only Sachin gets them in the small games too. Even against Bangladesh which Ricky must now be looking forward too.
Punter should have retired from cricket yesterday Daisy.

Really, never knew you thought that til now. ;D

&only time will tell if its the right decision.

Am I that transparent?

It won't be that easy to tell because Punter's going to get games that another younger player won't & we know he'll get runs against minnows.

I honestly don't get it. ???

Not sure time will tell if it is/was the right decision - perhaps can only be categorized if he fails. If he makes runs in a whitewash against the formidable Bangladesh then it will not vindicate the decision to play on.

Dropped 4 times TOO - any good batsman would have went on with it ;D

TBF wasnt one of his better knocks.

Imagine if Ponting scored that slow Big Cat.

Pak off to a flyer, India need the spin on.

Forget about the Bangladesh series. Massive over-reaction on here. It is a ridiculous CA scheduled 3 match one-day series that means nothing. The World Cup players dont want to go. The domestic players are either A) On the p!ss clebrating the end of the season and/or B) Havent played for months.

Once the CA review is in Hilditch will be gone amongst other changes that should see a changing of the guard with the likes of Katich, Hussey etc moved along. Australia also have tough upcoming test series away to Sri Lanka & South Africa & home to India between September & January. So really dont know what minnows you are on about.

Can't recall anyone bagging Ponting's scoring rate.

So Bangladesh isn't important enough for on the *smile* state players but it is for Ponting. Seems odd.

We need a review to determine Hilditch is no good? What other changes will this review bring in?

Yes all seems rather ironic really.
Perhaps Ricky's never been there and wants to spend some time on the beaches to prepare himself for the big games.

They were on here dont worry. Most use any excuse for a Punter bashing. Ian4 & LukeandDad from memory.

Will PM you after Leysy chairs the next meeting with Steve Waugh, Allan Border & Mark Taylor.

Fair enough, I thought his scoring rate has never been in question.

While you are chairing, ask Taylor why he is doing a review effectively on himslf considering he is on the Board - must have got some tips from Greg Miller. ON Harford's show they read out the Board members, I think they said there are 14 of them!

ANd just backed a $16 winner at Catterick Bridge!

Yes, I have my hand up. Ponting had a poor World Cup.

Ponting got out to a good start in the QF. If it was Watson, Clarke or Haddin we would have been urging them to lift the tempo - particularly from the 40th over and especially the Power Play. The fact that D Hussey outscored a settled in batsman highlights the fact that the skipper was well out of touch. Zaheer bowled yorkers at Ponting's feet and got away with several dot balls at a critical stage. We always needed at least 270 to make it interesting...

There is talk that Ajantha Mendis, the Sri Lankan spinner, may be coming to live in Melbourne.

I believe that for 12 months, he would be able to play for the Vics as an overseas player, and then from that time as a "local".

Not sure how long it would take for him to be able to play for Australia, but he would likely be the best spinner in the country upon his arrival.

Not since Kepler Wessels have we had an "import" play for Australia, so that could make things interesting....

Tendulkar 85 off 115 out of his teams total of 260
Ponting 104 off 118 out of his teams total of 260

Tendulkar named man of the match. Ponting gets lambasted for letting his team down. Anyone see the irony.

Not sure how it works LB&C. I heard Shaun Graf on the radio this morning and he indicated he would need to play as an overseas player for a season.
