I used to love cricket. Watch the Aussie guys go out and play, win or lose. I dont even bother watching them even though i have got foxtel. There seems to be many people like that nowadays. I just cant put my finger on the reason but cricket has got stale, very stale for me in the last few years.

So stale you still managed the effort to post about it in the cricket thread - what are you doing here if you have no interest?

Funny thing is you won't be the last one to post about how much you aren't interested in cricket in the cricket thread

Where should he post it, in the Mitch Famer thread?
I'll join your list of people who will post here that they've lost interest in Australian cricket.
I've lost interest.
I'll also post this on the Banana Banner thread.

Found it. If anyone is interested, Nathan Lyon is only the second person in Test history to do the "double" of a wicket with his first ball and five in the innings.

Also Bill Bradley, England v Australia at Old Trafford in July, 1899. Dismissed Frank Laver with his first ball and finished with 5/67. Also made 23 not out batting at number 11. Handy debut. Took one wicket in the second innings and none in his only other Test. :-\

At this rate there will be more posts on the thread by people the "arent" interested in cricket than are. ;D

Good digging!

according to the ABC news, Lyon is the 2nd Aussie to take a wicket 1st ball.
5 wickets aint bad for his 5th first class game.
Evidently the first guy was in 1889 or something like that .

Why is Ponting still batting at first drop? :frustration
I want to know this as well. Things begin turning around and then they pull this *smile*. Kawhaja proved he could handle No. 3.

Just saw a review of the days cricket.

The umpiring in this game has been average, but the work of the third umpire has been absolutely appalling. Whoever it is should be sacked. Talk about guessing.

Ponting was asked to continue at 3. Was happy to bat anywhere.

Also Khawaja has a lot to prove at test level anywhere in the order. Good temperament but some clear technical question marks for leysy.

It certainly has streak. Spinning bouncing decks like these make it near impossible for the umpires. No excuses for the 3rd umpire as you say.

Anyone else but me have questions over Haddin in the Australian team ?

Adequate keeper for mine , flighty inconsistent batsman who is definitely not very good in these conditions . He is ok in the 50 over and 20/20 team but I would have Paine ahead of him in the Test matches now .

I agree, stop the Paine farce

Paine should definitely be in. Should have kept his spot after the Pakistan series in England.

Hussey was robbed last night. How the third umpire could overturn the on-field decision on inconclusive evidence is beyond me.

Great counter-attacking knock from the skipper.

Fully agree on Haddin. Especially when we have a logical & ready made replacement to help rejuvenate the team in Paine.

He is also being groomed as a future leader so weshould be getting as much experience into him as possible.

Unfortunately he broke his finger last week while training for Tasmania & will be out for 6 weeks. (The same finger he badly broke while facing Nannes last year in that joke exhibition 20/20 that derailed his season).

Should be right for the tour of Sth Africa in late Oct/Nov if called upon.

Classy keeper/batsman & guy is young Tim.

The leader issue is a good point . ATM he is the only logical successor around the team to take over from Clarke . I can't see Watson ever captaining Australia but then again I thought that about Clarke.
