Pat Cummins has been added to the Test squad which is good to see.

Good stuff. Injuries notwithstanding , almost as obvious a future gun as Tendulkar was with the bat at the same age. Already a more mature and smarter bowler than Mitch Johnson at least.

(*cue a bunch of Vics bitching about "yet more NSW bias"*)

Is it this year that the Richmond Cricket Club moves from Punt Road?

Has to be a positive for the Footy Club!

i believe so. I read in the paper that this coming weekend is their first home game at Central reserve.

He hasn't set the world on fire at domestic level yet but Mitchell Marsh looks a great prospect at one day level especially . He bowls much better than i though he did .
Having 2 batsmen who can bowl in Watson and Marsh provides a lot of selection options in different conditions .

Marsh dropped for Watson and Smith keeps his place in the team for the 2nd ODI . Very strange . Smith is not international standard as a batsman or a bowler imo but clearly the selectors see something in him . Not sure what it is however .

He offers flexability. We will need that flexability even more now as Watson has gone off injured after bowling only four overs.

Yes, for the first time in the RCC's 157 year history, we are playing on twin, side-by-side fields.

The boys have started well at 2-2, considering they are a comparatively young team.

Could have been 3-1, except for last Saturday's late storm at Princes Park that wiped out the last 4 overs and we lost via Duckworth-Lewis by two runs.

All we need is for the RFC to abide by the terms of our agreement and all will be well for both parties.

The Telegraph, in London, puts the boot in:

''Today is a sad day for England cricket … A legend of the English game has made his last meaningful contribution to the success of the Three Lions: Andrew Hilditch is to step down as the selectorial supremo of Cricket Australia.''

Nice touch. Poor old Andrew has struggled with PR throughout his career. Something about marrying the coach's daughter back in his playing days...?

I dont think ive ever heard the anyone denigrate their oppositions selectors before. Players, coaches, presidents etc but the selector? Goes to show how low poor old Andy, and of course, Jamie Cox, Boon, Chappell etc have sunk.

Good finish coming up in the PRE grudge match between Tasmania & Victoria.

Vics are 5/127 off 33 chasing Tas's 222.

8 - 198 with three overs to go. Also good to see my Tracy Village CC mate Matty Day playing, good to see him getting a chance even if he batted at seven and hasn't bowled...took a good catch though!
