Cricket

I'll say this though - if we go onto win this - doing it after being bowled out for 47 will make it an extra special victory and probably end up embarrassing SA even more.

You missed a amazing nights cricket Phil.

Couldn't you hear Leysy calling out to you?

I went and read my son a book when the Saffas were 1/40. Came back 20 minutes later and things had changed a bit. Literally didn't leave the lounge until stumps. Riveting stuff.

Hughes, Haddin and Ponting might get lucky in that their performances will be overshadowed by the bizarre nature of the match. May escape a bit of criticism.

I saw the good stuff...watched us run through the Saffas and thought it was time to go to bed after that! Glad I did in the end.

Still can't believe it. All out 47. I never even played in a junior team that made a score as low as that!

Yep. *smile* him off. One thing to get out to a better ball. Another to be completely irresponsible.

Note: Since Smiths dismissal 11 batsman have been out in single figures.

Amazing scenes.

Wake up Phil!

Had a restful nights sleep Leysy....had the happy thoughts of Australia's bowling to get me to sleep.

Thank god!!!

Watched most of it.

In short, I believe Test cricket is suffering because of the other forms of cricket.

Never seen so many batsmen incapable of getting in behind the ball and playing straight.

Might be a sub standard pitch but least it makes for good cricket, better than a boring flat run feast you get in most parts of the world. I say we need more of them and find out which cricketers can bat, its called test cricket for a reason.

Just watched the dismissals on YouTube....must have been surreal watching them fall like 9 pins.

Ponting's is becoming common, falling to the offside and playing around the front pad. He has one test left in his glittering career I reckon. Sad to see him plaing like this...can't even hit the straight ones.

Haddin...what can you say about him? reminded me of Damien Martyn's last shot in test cricket. As was said last night, he takes absolutely no responsibilty when he bats. For a senior player, his attitude with the bat in his hands is horrible.

Hughes was another common out for him. His technique overall is ordinary, but his inability to get properly behind the ball when playing a backfoot defensive is horrible.

Johnson a soft out. Hard to believe he made a century and a 90 not out last time we were in SA. His batting is as bad as his bowling. He is the only pace bowler in the game who has not moved the ball in the air or off the seam. As people may have gathered, I am not a fan of Johnson. He is a liability in 9 out of every 10 tests he plays. We can't afford to carry him any longer. In hindsight, these conditions would have been tailor made for Copeland.

Still can't believe it.

However, when you look back over the past few years, batting collapses by this Australian side have become quite common....been bowled out for under 100 a few times of late. Seems like there is noone able to stop the rot when the opposition gets a runon.

John Invarerity is going to have some work to do, because he could well be ending some blokes test careers shortly.

Very true.

And Test Cricket in ths country is suffering for a selection policy that is bordering on the ridiculous.

It's time to end the Katich farce.
