funny that they called the play off about an hour and a half early last night when the light wasn't too bad with the lights on an a spinner bowling. Doesn't say much for the mooted night tests does it.

Doesn't say much about the willingness of the Australians to risk a loss in pushing for a win.

Kwaj' wicket had just fallen, and from reports the umpires were the keenest to get off.....the light meter said so!

i cracked up hard this morning when i read about cricket australia relaxing the rules so the bay 13 yobbo's can return and have their fun during the big bash. i guess cricket australia is fully aware they're running a dying sport and are trying to win back fans. good luck with that :rofl

Cracks me up how many people who aren't intersted in cricket keep posting in the thread. Test cricket is alive and well.

Dying sport? Reckon it is going pretty well at most levels in Australia. Plenty of young kids still playing and dreaming of representingh their country. Plenty of interest in tonights game.

An interesting point for you bin man - the Cricket thread started in Oct 2005 and is now over 1000 pages long. The A-league thread started August 2006 and has managed 143 odd pages.

I am interested but my interest is increased because its not footy season . Give me a Richmond win ahead of an Australian Test win any day . :D

State level looks very slim. Empty MCG with howling echos.

The whole competition needs a bit of a boost somewhere. Maybe change the World Cup to a World League fixture every year.

No-one has attended state games for 30 years. Even when cricket was flying those games didnt attract viewers.

That doesnt reflect in the amount of interest in them though.

Yeah leysy does. Definately.

There are some big issues with the game at international level though. No doubt.
