Evan Gulbis....you guessed it, another blob.

Amazing. :hihi

First four first class innings are ducks. For a batsman that is incredible.

Gotta be a record surely.

Tas now getting the innings back on track at 5/127. Gun 21 year old all-rounder James Faulkner is 56 not out batting at No 4.

Top innings with the pitch obviously favouring the bowling.

Greg Chappell had 4 ducks in a row (ODIs & tests) in his run of 7 in 81/82.

Yes, but he was still in his early 30s at the time. And it was his first real batting slump of his career.

Although, I do remember at the time that it was the focus of National attention.

I remember Mark Waugh made 4 ducks in a row against Sri Lanka in the early 1990s. It was the same series in which Dean Jones topped the averages and then got dropped never to return. Needless to say, Victorians weren't too happy that Junior kept his spot ahead of Legend!

Ken Rutherford had a horror start to his test career as did Marvin Attapattu, but not sure if they went 4 innings before getting off the mark (that being in international cricket).

Making 4 blobs to start your first class career would be hard to beat.

South African 'keeper Tommy Ward debuted with a king pair against Australia in 1912 - on the same day, and each time forming the third leg of a T.J.Matthews hat-trick! Scorecard

Followed up with 0 and 0* in his next Test v England.

Atapattu's first three Tests yielded 0 and 0, 0 and 1, 0 and 0.
1 run for six outs. Average 0.17 !

I knew it was bad, but not that bad!

Rutherford did a bit better, scoring 0, 0, 4, 0, 2, 1, 5 in his first 7 innings. The 4 was an edge through slips according to Wikipedia!

Both ended up being pretty good test batsmen, so there is hope for Gulbis yet.

None of the bowlers in the Aus second XI have as yet out there hand up. Starc & Pattison in particular copping some stick from McCallum.

Kiwis 0/106 at lunch of just 21 overs. McCallum 71* off 65 balls.
