he is ugly but effective Vettori. Not sure why their best batsman bats at number 7!

He's an all-rounder.

Geez we miss Johnson............not. ;D

Shame Patto's not playing.

Warner out for 3. Test match evenly poised.

NZ got more than they should have courtesy of the dropped catch by Clarke, but then again, most of NZs top order perished to poor shot selection.

Really, the NZ attach is modest at best. Would be expecting the likes of Clarke, Ponting, Hussey, Haddin etc. to make plenty.

Funny tweet from Francis Leach, Ponting and Kwahaja, like watching Luke and Obi Wan, the master and the apprentice.

Hows about Clarke being called back after video showed a no-ball.

Leysy will say it again it is the worst rule in cricket. Horribly horribly flawed .

What is - the no-ball rule or the use of technology to ensure bowlers don't get wickets with illegal deliveries?

I think Leysy is pointing out that not all illegal dismissals are recalled (and not even all no-ball dismissals are recalled) and unless you use technology for all dismissals it is flawed - is that correct Leysy?

Don't agree . Any rule which increases the number of correct decisions being made is good rule imo.

I think Lazy Days might be talking about the no-ball rule, rather than the value of technology. (I think?!)

Don't see any issue with the no-ball rule myself. Just bowl from behind the line.

Correct as usual Big Cat.

Flawed on so many levels. Hate the rule. Hate it.

On a more positive note not too many of the usual Ponting knockers on here of late. Hopefully the great man can guide us to a good score tomorrow.

I agree with Mark Taylor and Sachin Tendulkar on this. This level of technology has no place in modern cricket. Batsmen have been given out to no balls for over 100 years. You have to take the good with the bad.

In the next couple of years we should see the like of Warner, Hughes, Marsh, Khawaja, Cummins, Starc and Lyon fortifying positions. (or maybe not, still up for debate)

The question posed is who will push these guys for their spot with the new mantra of a larger national talent squad for the test team.

At the moment I can see Chris Lynn and Ferguson making claims to a middle order slot and my belief is Cowan should be injected in straight away for his time consumtion skills as opposed to rate of runs scored.

The keeping baton seems to be set in stone with Haddins current selection with the mantle going to Paine, although I wouldn't be unhappy with Wade, but as Wade's in the form of his life and still can't get a gig says a lot of his overall chances as Haddin hasn't been anyones favourite of late..

The spinner possie seems to currently closed to the offspin of Lyon. Can't see anyone challenging him in the longer format in the near distant future.

The quickies definately have the greatest depth as Cummins, Starc, Pattinson, Copeland and Cutting I believe have an awesome amount of talent to cover us through the next decade, but others such as George, Butterworth, Heaslewood, Faulkner McKay, Marsh and Henriques will add to a formiddable department.

Who else will push in your eyes...or have I covered most bases. Batting seems a downfall but impressive knocks
from a few raw kids might have changed perception.

What's your view

I,ve faced more potent deliveries from my Grandmother. ;D
