Cricket

We seem to miss the shortfalls of the Kiwis at this time. How big a dud is Guptill?

This time yesterday we were saying how bad NZ are, and a day later they look like posting a very challenging 4th innings target. Things can change very quickly in test cricket!

Careful with the 'we' word.

Hughes the focus but Punting still the big elephant in the room. Final test surely. Move on Australia!

Is says in the paper today that since Hughes' reinclusion into the test team he actually has a better record than Ponting for the matching time frame.

Warner looked very good. I hope he now goes on with it and leads us to victory.

Hughes out already this morning...need I say in what fashion?

Hughes, caught Guptill bowled Martin.

Thats four time in four innings that the scorecard has read the above. Quite amazing.

And should have been out for 0. Has to go, he stuck around for a while but it was not enough, Cowans has to come in if Marsh and Watson are still injured. As for Warner, whodathunk he would end up looking like a good test prospect.

4 down now....the former captain and his successor out in quick succession. 82 still required with 6 wickets left.

Could be a few more twists to come yet...

Hughes is barely 23. Plenty of time to fix what needs fixing and force his way back via weight of Shield runs, a la Matthew Hayden.

Ponting, Clarke & Hussey gone in quick succession. Australia being exposed as a weak Test nation.

Hussey and Ponting have to think seriously about their futures, right now they're liabilities. Hussey should just be dropped and the selectors should put the pressure on Ponting to retire.

Our batting in all is average at best. Lose a couple of wiskets and it can fold like a deck of cards.

Thanks god for Warner in this innings otherwise we would be in deep pooh.

Hughes has had plenty of chances at Test Level,Let alone plenty of time to iron out his flaw in his game. Its quite laughable actually how on earth he,s got this far in his career.

We,ve been a weak test side since we lost McGrath,Warne,Taylor,Gilly etc. While we still carry Ponting and Hussey we,ll continue to struggle.

Warner 100 :clap

Have to admit I was wrong about him I never thought he'd make it as a test player but he has, looks like he has a really good temperament. With his scoring power he could become extremely valuable.
