Few new people on board now. Will indicate whether they have the balls to make the changes or whether it will be the same old same old.

Certainly are a few new'uns and look how good they're doing. Imagine how further we'd be developed if we started this after the 2009 Ashes series? Instead we've paddled water for 2 seasons perservering with Ponting, Hussey, Haddin. The only reason why many of the youngsters were given a go was only due to injury to Watson, Marsh, Harris etc not by any great succession plan by CA/selectors.

Agree with all of that but this is the first series with all the new appointments in place? Will get a real indication of the path they are taking by Dec 26.

I have seen enough. Hughes, Ponting, Hadden and Starc all gone.

Bring in Watson, Marsh, Wade and Harris.

Time to make it happen.

Well done to Warner. The fact no one would see it out with you is a disgrace.

We've been having these "losses we need to have" for a few years now but seems they don't have any impact on CA and its selectors.

Took the words out of my mouth, hopefully these new selectors are different, this loss was *smile* pathetic. Hussey and Haddin to go, Ponting to be given a big push to retire.

before then, when the team is announced.

Watson is overrated has been just as culpable as anybody in recent collapses, Harris misses every second test with injury and is a hack anyway. Starc has played all of two tests and at the very least is still an upgrade on Johnson.

Peter Nevill > Matthew Wade

Other than forced injury changes, I'm tipping we'll drop a bowler. Starc for Harris.
As per usual, the non performing batsmen will survive the axe.
Those bloody bowlers simply should have done better. Not the batters fault. :rofl :rofl :rofl

there will be probably be a couple of changes to the batting line-up at least. AFAIK both Watson and Marsh are likely to be ready to return. I would guess one will be in for Hughes. the other for Hussey/Ponting/Khawaja.

Probably Khawaja if previous selections are anything to go by.

probably yes. unfortunately he hasnt really grabbed his chance though so if he does get dropped he couldnt complain too much. (im not at all saying i support dropping him, especially ahead of the old men who cant score a run either.)

Khawaja getting dropped before Hussey & Ponting would be utterly ridiculous.

Its a chance to happen though.

If previous selections are anything to go by, Hussey still has credits in the bank for his man of the series performance in Sri Lanka, despite his failures since.

Haddin got 80 in the last test, so that shores him up for at least a few more (need to give him opportunities to justify the selectors' faith) and Ricky is a great of the game so they wouldn't dare tell him time's up.

If Punter doesn't call it a day he's delusional and someone needs to grow some & pull the pin. It's gone well beyond a joke.

We've seen with Pattison, Cummins, Marsh, Lyon & Warner now what happens when fresh faces are given opportunity.

I can stomach us getting beaten with a young developing side, not with a bunch of hasbeens hanging onto past glories.

Agreed, he and Hussey are actually being selfish.

Is there any merit in bringing in Cowan and Watson.

Cowan to open with Warner then Watto down to 5 for Hussey could even go in at 3 and put Khawaja down the order we know they wont drop Ponting.

I agree there is a chance that Usman may get the knuckle instead which would be tough on the kid.

Hughes has to go its simple.

Times up for Ricky and Huss we know that but i can see them surviving till end of the domestic series they sure as hell dont have the nuts to drop them before the India series.

I must say the future is brighter re Aussie cricket in fact it may invigorate a lot of interest back in the side which has definately waned over the past 3 years.

Haddin will see the summer out they are waiting for Paine to get fit, however Paine is a good enough Bat to play as a batsmen if his fingers struggle to get right and Wade could keep.

I think the masses are looking past this summer with more interest than previous i know i am as long as the right calls are made the Aussie side will rise again.

This loss to the Kiwis is a huge blessing in disguise for the Aussies to win the seies 2- 0 with the rubbish theyve shown wouldve released some pressure, now the pressure intensifies which is the best result for Aussie Cricket going forward imo.

Nice and concise as always my Dear ToOts.

Why do Ponting and Hussey have to call it a day ? Where are our selectors who should be telling them its over ?

Maybe not both but 1 certainly should. Hussey probably because it would cause the least ructions.
