Hilfy is now a confirmed starter which I think is a good move. Will he get the new ball now that he is a new ball bowler?

Will he finally bag a michelle or indeed actually take more than 5 wickets in the entire match for the first time after 17 tests like a real international level quick would've by now?

Another good article from Greg Baum on CA's issues:

http://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/new-spin-same-old-hype-20111223-1p8r5.html#ixzz1hNldcN5p

I think he hits the nail on the head when he refers to CA not really knowing what they are doing.

Cool interview. I'm a big fan. And even bigger now I agree with everything he said. I reckon the effect of brutal economics on Australian cricket of the higher probabilities of building a footy career cannot be overstated. If cricket was the only show in town the aussies would be invincible. Imagine athletes like Buddy/ Ryder / Reid etc opening the bowling?

Can You imagine being in Lids position? Having to decide whether to be a big league footy player or a Shield/ Aus paceman? Its mind boggling. Everyone's, well mine at least, dream. I had a good mate I went to school with who opened the bowling for Vic under 17s and St K wanted to grab. He wasn't that interested in footy, and he kept breaking down as a bowler. But heaps of good athletes are like that, good at every sport

How good is the Boxing day test?

The G just makes the hairs on the back of the neck rise with a great crowd and tension you can cut with a knife.

I really hope Warner gets a ton today.

Bloody fantastic batsman and fielder.

P.S. Bill Lawry back in the commentary box.

Legend.

Hussey not out but given out by the umps.

ICC get one lol.
Cowan given out without hitting it as well. Shows the utter stupidity of the Indian Board's position on this. We have the technology and now 2 howlers change the game enormously. Just crazy.

Stupid? Would have thought quite the opposite given their luck.
Stupid from the point of view of the game of Cricket.
Its pretty simple to me. If it means more umpiring decisions are correct then do it.

Hate to say it after today, but I am in favour of no technology either. You just have to take the good with the bad. I am firmly a tradionalist.

I agree with you ToOts, there can be no doubt that the Indians are without a doubt along with the Sri Lankans the most suss side when it comes to non stop appealing for dismissals, even when not out hence they achieved 2 wickest today that were not out.

Hopefully they get their own when they are batting.

Siddle is a smart bat. A few blokes our team can learn from him. He is good at getting leg byes. Also he is a Victorian :clap
