Crisis talk/meeting at RFC??

Digglers Ghost said:
It was mentioned on Nine news tonight that we had a crisis meeting today.

Anybody got any news on this??
The meeting addressed our 3 losses & we have now reassessed our team goals for 2007.Instead of aiming to finish in the top 8 our goal is to win 2-4 games for the year.

He went on by waving his finger at them and said he will fix them up the hard way and he'll unleash the geish on them all.

:hihi :hihi

That gave me a good laugh geoffry!!

Lucky alot of us Tigers have still got a sense of humour!!

Terry Wallace has so far done what he is paid heaps to do , he is paid to coach the team to win games , and in the 1st 3 weeks we have been a chance to win and infact be in winning positions ...
At the end of the day you can lead the horse to water but cant make him drinkl it ... its not TW fault that ...

Petrified has no heart , and jibbed it
Richo cant kick to save his life ,
Jonno is slower than the tax department issuing refunds
Tivers turns it over
Polo Moore Howart McGuanne are not up to it yet
Raines had a shocker
*smile* .. enough said
We miss targets
Run over the ball
Hyde Tuck Krak are up and down more times than a hookers G String
You can only work with the cattle you have at your disposal , and ours aint any bloody good , so lets continue to blame the players and leave the ring master alone because they are the ones putting on the show ...

Well done Rockster, funny stuff!! :clap :clap

So two pages into this thread we have absolutely no actual info on this meeting. Just another place for many to leave their dummies.

Finally, the spirit of "If I hear one more time how we had an honourable loss, I'll fair dinkum spew" has come to the surface.

The three games this year have simply continued a pattern that started in the early 1990s. When the team is ahead, they take their foot off the accelerator and let the other team back in, when they are a couple of goals behind they trot along quietly, accepting their fate.

Change this culture and you will revive the team. Wallace has not addressed this issue yet. He has been softly, softly and encouraging in his approach. It is time to bring out the mean bugger that was always just below the surface at the Bulldogs. It is time to stop focussing on charity work and good deeds and start playing good, old-fashioned, mean-spirited football. Forget about signing footballs for the kiddies in the crowd after a game and concentrate on giving the opposition nothing.

A twenty point lead is not enough, or a 30 point lead, or a 50 point lead. When you are 100 points up deep in the final quarter you might be tempted to relax, but that is about it.

Every other team knows that Richmond will never bury them. Eventually, they will start to drift through the game nad it will open up. The only way to break this pattern is to bury the opposition, over and over again.

Great post ToT.

Time for Terry to bring some of that 'Year of the Dogs' passion to Tigerland.

Perhaps someone can send him a loud speaker and a set of cat 'o nine tails.

It was an extraordinary meeting with the players and coach early this morning. TW had a heart to heart talk with his players, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, TW said we were in the same position last year (he's got buckleys if he thinks things will change around this year).

That was about it, not much secrets came out, except that Gaspar will get another game, and Pettifer might be back from his expedition to see the Wizard of Oz.

Not sure about wizard of oz gpb but plough should take them to see 300 spartans playing at the cinemas. If that doesn't inspire them nothing will. I was PUMPED after watching it!!!!!

Absolutely correct TOT.
We NEVER bury anyone.

If we were 20 points down at half time, I would not have lost hope, but have strong doubts that we would be able to come back.

20 points up at half time and I am worried that we will run out for the second half assuming that the opposition is just going to keep playing the way they did in the first half. Which is exactly what happened on friday night.

Honourable losses make me fair dinkum vomit.

Sheeds once said that a 20 point lead at half time can be a dangerous thing that can give a team a false sense of security. Makes me wonder about the speeches in both rooms at half time. It was almost as if the first half form of the two teams had been reversed.

This is a fantastic post. We need that mongrel spirit where we actually want to punish the opposition and make them hurt. It would be good, although probably pretty dishearterning, to come up with a list of times where we have smashed a team and gone on with it when they are down vs the list of time where we have let teams back in and still just hung on.

I'm not going to be able to list them (as it will cause too much pain), but this is a deep rooted issue for us and reflected by our poor percentage every year. When getting whacked we give up, when winning we rarely destroy the other team. How do you address this? Which of our players have the passion for the kill?

Well said TOT70. I could sense we were going to lose about 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Why? Because me and many other supporters recognised a familiar patter, one which is encapsulated in the second sentence of your post. Its not much fun when my footy excitement is down to a dull murmer by Round 4. Please Tezza, push a cattle prod up those lads clackers and GET 'EM ANGRY, the next game is the perfect one to do it considering recent history and ascerbic barbs courtesy of the Dawgs administration. Charge that cattle prod, Terry, charge that cattle prod!! (Plus I've just bought a big LCD tele to watch the footy this year so make my investment money well spent).

Stop it itsy, you're giving me goosebumps, that was an awesome display of courage that is still ringing in the ears of our historians.

Good call!! Saw 300 the other day and thought exactly the same thing. Show it to these softc#ck footballers of ours.

Didnt Lethal show "Predator" to his players back in early 2001 before they played the then unbeatable Bombers with the famous quote from that movie being "if it bleeds you can kill it" line?

They then went on to beat the Bombers and win 3 flags in a row!!!
