Not sure if anyone else heard it but I was listening to Pickers on SEN this morning when they were discussing how the sides would go this season.
They mentioned that Hentchall ( spelling ) has not yet had a reconstruction done on the knee he mangled late last year.
Apparently it was so bad that they are still just waiting for the damage to settle right down before they even try to rebuild it, and maybe he won't be back.
Regardless of the club played for this would be a tragedy for the player, does anyone have any further info on the guy that would refute or confirm what I heard.

This, unfortunately, compares favourably to Cogs.
Cogs, from what I know, did did his knee "simply".
I'm no medical expert, but given Cogs never relied on his pace, is still a pretty good chance of making it back to the player he was. ??? :)

That's a shame Hentschel was really making that FF spot his own good on a lead and a nice kick for goal a shame really no matter who he plays for wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I saw the footage of when he injured his knee - one of the worst I've seen. I hope he makes it back, but it's probably not too hopeful.

I really hope Hentschel recovers and we see him playing great footy.

This is a kid that was starting to deliver on the field. Has showed great promise but last year started to really shine.

So suprised that they have waited so long to operate on. I remember hearing that they said his knee was worst badly damaged and it was like he suffered a serious car accident. Some people have extremely bad luck.

lets hope we see Hentschel in 2008 raising to the occassion.

It was pretty well known at the time it happened that it was probably an 18-24 month injury as the knee was both dislocated and required reconstructing (all 3 ligaments I'm fairly certain).
They needed to wait for the swelling to go down after the initial injury, reset the knee and then let all the swelling go down again before they could even look at reconstructing the ligaments. I'm actually a bit surprised they've been able to do the reco already, there was talk they wouldn't be able to do it until mid-year.

I actually know this kid. Sterling character and a lovely kid. I remember seeing this happen and was quite upset by it.

I think if anyone can come back from an injury like this it is Trent. I am looking forward to him continuing his career in a year or two.

shocking injury, hate the crows but hope he gets back, from what I saw he was starting to look like the next big thing.
