Crunch Time Decisions/Senior Players

Speaking of going, how about Wayne Campbell gets the chop as midfield coach.

Let Brian Royal continue with the forwards.

The solution for the mid field coaching role, quite bloody simple really Ben Cousins.

Let Benny do the coaching of the mid fielders, they need all his hard won wisdom and experience more than anything else. Having him the paddock as well is BONUS.

But whatever Richmond do, they retain Ben in some form, a junior type coaching role is not out of the question and who knows what may develop down the track.

No one could seriously contend that you are wrong about Bowden, Brown, Johnson or Simmonds. I'd also add Mcmahon and Pettifer.

Geez Massai, you've been reading my mind.

This is the problem with so many supporters....they get so worked up and protective of individual players its astounding....I wish the RFC had Man United's attitude....no player is above the club, and if it's for the good of the club they will trade superstars in their prime.
Irrelevant

You have posted some good things tonight, but this is not one of them.

Brian Royal is an absolute amateur, a reason our forward line is not structured, has no movement or positioning and a reason why we do not kick enough goals.

Our forward line is an absolute shambles (along with everything else mind you) and he should not escape criticism and in my opinion, should be the first guy removed with Wallace.

I SAID THIS AFTER THE CARLTON GAME AND THOUGHT IT BEFOREHAND.
THE TEAM IS STUFFED AND WAS LAST YEAR,CHEAP WINS AGAINST SIDES THAT WERE POOR OR TANKING MADE US LOOK MUCH BETTER THAN REALITY.
THE CARLTON GAME PROVED WE HAD NOTHING TO OFFER,FOLLOWING VERY POOR GAMES AGAINST FREO AND PIES.

SOLUTION REFUSE TO ACCEPT SAME OLD MEDIOCRITY.

NEW COACH,DONT REALLY CARE WHO..HARD NUT PREFERED.
TANK TILL SEASONS END...PLAY KIDS AND ACCEPT IT AS DEVELOPEMENT,THIS IS WHAT WCE DID LAST YEAR
MOVE FAILURES ON AND AGED PLAYERS
START AFRESH...CANT BE THIS BAD WITH ANY DECISION MADE!

PS ANYONE,ME INCLUDED,COULD COACH RICHMOND FROM LAST,TO LAST, 5 YEARS LATER. THINK ABOUT THAT. NOTHING CAN BE WORSE THAN WHAT WE HAVE AND IT HAS BEEN BLOODY OBVIOUS FOR 2 YEARS.TIGER SUPPORTERS ARE WONDERFULL TO STAND BY THE TEAM,BUT NOT IN ANY WAY REALISTIC.

yep agree people talk about bottoming out or totally starting afresh but noone want to go thru what that entails. if the club is reflective of the supporters we will wait another 5 yrs before anything is done.

I'm an advocate for retiring all the over 30s (Cousins maybe the only exclusion as he has yet to be infected by the Richmond culture). Retiring some and not all would be a huge mistake, the new coach needs to assume complete control of what would be a very young playing group.

Someone cited Clarko at Hawthorn.....I think Blight started this trend when he arrived in Adelaide....he promptly retired the "had been" seniors including a couple of big names in McDermott & McGuiness, sending a very strong message to the playing group that it was his way.......and only his way! Apparently (rumor only), he tried to do the same thing when he got to St Kilda with a couple of club stalwards but didn't have the support of the club....and the rest is history.

I think the time is right, out with the old and in with the new. We have a genuine opportunity to CHANGE the culture of this club, do we have the courage to make the diffcult decisions.....or do we want to coninue in the same vein as the last five years?
