Cuz was fantastic today [Merged]

And to think a player of this calibre could have been lost for good. I take my hat off to him for the way he has came back, after all he did wrong in his life and the consequent scrutiny.

This is why a lot of us cuz fans were hell bent on wanting the guy picked up....yes he is a genuine superstar on the field..but it was more the leadership he could provide and the experience of what it takes to become a successful team etc...thats why this bloke is worth his weight in gold. Everyone knows Cuz was the real skipper at the eagles when Judd took the reigns....and it seems he is having the same influence on this group. The RFC should be applauded for picking this guy up for absolutely nothing. :clap

Yep, he is the real deal. Runs, runs, runs and then finds more to keep running. Some of his turns out of traffic today were amazing. If we can get two more years out of him it would be priceless. Cotchin and Cousins have a great ability to find one another. A joy to watch to classy mids instead of the standard Richmond battlers.

I'm just watching the replay and loved the way he chased Ryder and stole the ball from him by pushing Ryder's body and swaying left and right.

Imagine Cuz with a proper, fair dinkum pre-season behind him next year. It's actually scary to think how good the midfield of Cuz, Cotch, Lids, Foley, Tambling and Jackson could really be if they are all superfit.

I like Cotch & Cuz on at the same time

In the past they seemed to swap off the bench with each other. Today it appeared they were often both on the ground at the same time. It works so well when they play in tandem, principally I suspect because they are on the same wavelength. Love watching smart players.

Whoever the coach is, this should all start during pre-season training. Gut running in the heat.

Dont think Cuz needs to wear the 17 to inspire and lead the side as hes a natural.
He will just continue what hes been doing and as we saw today the players respect him and listen to what he has to say.

Admittedly that number 32 degrades him a bit. ;D

Give him the no. 1 guernsey.

hmm while im more than happy to have ben at the club what is having him going to cost us in the long term.

no way would we have won today without cousins. we took him on with a vision of having him for no more than a yr or two. when he goes he has to be replaced. the only way to replace such quality is with quality. to get another cousins into the club we will need a top 3 pick.

in saying this i believe cousins even though i was against getting him at the time is good for all the things he brings to the table.
this is not a go at the man just a ponderance a pondderance is it a word. but you all get my drift i hope.

bens guidance and direction of our juniors is much needed, lets hope they are smart enough to learn from him. lets not forget though people we are now winning games a lot of us would prefer to lose this late in the season ben is a big part of winning those games he has to be replaced.

I'm sure he could hint a few quality juniors (that no other team are aware of yet) from WA to our new coach.

Don't forget he was our last pick claw so it wasn't a wasted pick.

The bloke is an absolute machine. A champion and a winner through and through. Would have to be our best recruit in 25 years. Proud to have his number on my RFC guernesey.

The BEST number 32 we have ever had! It's great to see a 32 playing great consistent ball hungry football.

He brings to this team what no coach has been able to in recent years. Class, direction skill leadership tenacity, commitment, drive, passion.
How many other players do you regularly see having a "spit" on the ground because he has busted his gut and then run even harder.

With him at the club and obviously very happy we will see development in the likes of Foley, Cotchin etc.

And nothing would please me more than seeing him win another Charlie and stand in front of A1 and A2 as well as Eddie and Christine and give them the bird! Cuz you are the man!

Play hard!

Totally agree mate.....its great to have a onfield role model that has been at the top and is still playing as if was at the top of his game...so the likes of Lids, Cotch, etc know what they have to do to make it that far.

Would he be the best recruit we have had for 5 years or more?
I know for longevity we will get more games/years out of Lids, Cotch and the like....but surely we haven't had a player like Cuz for as long as I can remember.

Add a Richo into the mix....a pre-season for Cotch....some hard yards for Lids/Foley/Bling....some muscle on Post/Vickery...and some kilometres into Riewoldt...and...oh yeah baby! 8)
