What on earth is wrong with a fresh footy department?

Clean out everyone except Rutten and Mcrae in the coaching ranks and Williams in the recruiting.

Fresh eyes, fresh plans, members back on board. Optimism.

The club is like a dude who can't bring himself to break up with his girlfriend. Living together but both are unhappy.

RFC should move the *smile* out and get its mojo back.

I think there are building blocks already in place and don't believe we need to tear these down in order to reset.

You seem to think football clubs are these small businesses where the entire staff can be turned over on a whim. They aren't they are multi million dollar a year businesses who need some staff continuity to retain organisational memory and internal IP to continue normal day to day operations and processes. FFS even the alternate board tickets don't want to do what you suggest, they wanted Balme as well.

Not against Balme, I am against retaining people that have been part of a dysfunctional footy department.

You and others seem to think that footy departments are sacrosanct knowledge reserves.

They're actually highly dynamic teams that depend on synergy of personalities and styles.

When a football dept has failed, which is entirely the reason why Benny called for review, you need to build from the top down and clear the decks.

But no, you're worried about existing IP.

We need fresh ideas, innovation, not entrenched failure.

A large number of existing assistant coaches gone, the head of recruiting gone replaced by an internal appointment who apparently disagreed with the previous direction of the recruiting dept, a new head of football who has been part of successful clubs. I'd say we're getting some fresh ideas.

I doubt any turnovers are being done on a "whim" and I am sure if we could afford it, and hadn't made certain decisions previously tying people to the club, more would be happening. Performance hasn't been too crash hot across the board.

That is not a compelling or convincing list.

I reckon you're up to about 2,351 ways to say exactly the same thing. Keep at 'em baz.

LOL, appears I'm ruining the fanbois' golden glitter parade :hihi

Not ruining anything, just relentlessly annoying to this poster at least, regardless of what is being discussed. But I may be irritated by what you post, but I'll defend your right to post it.

I unload my thoughts here but the main thing I come here for is unsanitised opinion from posters I enjoy.

Don't get annoyed, just filter what you read.

I know I annoy plenty of posters here. To end this post on a positive note I'll list those who's work I really like:

Dye'ere
Smoking Aces
Coburgtiger
Knightersrevenge
Lamb22
Harry
Rockefeller
Leysy Days
Scoop
Spooker
Tigers of Old
Bully
Jimjesstorp
TJsFurrow
Saigon
Tets
Rosy3
Craig
Tot070
Mac

There you go, that's who I try to read, sorry if I've missed any. Excellent posters all, and I certainly don't see eye to eye with some.

I take the Tigers very seriously.

I like posters with nuanced analysis, dark bright or whatever. Relentless faux intellectual gymnastics to spin every single thing the same way gets annoying. Its particularly annoying when it ramps up when a good thing happens. Nobody is saying this is messianic or a silver bullet or anything like that, its just a good appointment. Its like some are personally affronted that their thesis that the club is a rabble that can't run *smile*-up in a brewery is dented, even slightly. But I'll get over it

Missing the point dude.

Balmey is not replacing anyone.

Three assistants have not had their contracts renewed.

As far as I am aware, that's it.

Balmey has the Hardwick problem to deal with.

Nowhere near enough.

Club seems afraid of making hard calls.
