You're right, we'll do it occasionally, but it's against Hardwick's nature, which is why we don't sustain it. Damien is completely risk averse and that's how he's started to coach after the loss to Carlton in the EF. That one game has scarred him so deeply that it will probably be the reason that his career as a senior coach ultimately ends.
This in spades. Hardwick's horrible slow safety first game plan has killed off the natural attacking footballing ability of so many of our players. I hope Caracella and the other new assistants can help repair the damage.

TM remember Hardwicks press conference last year when the boys turned it on and we beat Collingwood with a fast play on style ?

Hardwick said that that was a mistake and not how we want to play going forward.

We also repeated this against Freo and the Swans so our boys are capable of this style but Hardwick wont embrace it, instead preferring a controlled game plan.

I’m still utterly and completely baffled as to why this coaching incompetent who admits publically that he prefers a stayed, counterproductive, outdated mode of football; with disastrous results for all to see, is still the head coach at the RFC?

All I’m reading and seeing from the club is the creation of “systems and getting the right support staff” behind and around this failure with the idiotic belief Hardwick will somehow turn into a visionary A grade coach.

Find the money, get rid of him and move on with a new head of football that has a lot of credibility in Balme, a new head coach and a selection of hand-picked assistant coaches and start our attack on the 2017 season now.

As for the playing list; that will be assessed by a new coaching regime; and what will be will be? It cannot and will not be as bad as what the current coach, his assistants and the playing list dished up in the 2016 season.

we are certainly moving heaven and earth to ensure that hardwick has all the support he needs.

why this is happening now, after seven years of failure, is completely beyond me.

Balme did mention on KB show this morning that he needs around 6 mths to get a proper feel in any organisation. Also on a different matter he said he didn't know dimma and he was looking forward to working with him. Dimma is there for 2017. didn't sound like any change soon.

Quite unusual and indeed sad to think that RFC will go into 2017 with a "dead man walking" coach.
I suspect even those on PRE who don't wish to see a sacking are deep down unimpressed with his record and his wanting to stay. From those more vocal opponents he will continue to get very little good will.
So how will the players receive the message and enthusiasm from DH?
How will the new assistants get their messages across?
Can (any) coaching team excel in these circumstances?

Going to be interesting times on the training track at Richmond in the off season.

SHhhh, dont reply to TM with facts.
Ssshhhhh! Don't tell anyone Leysy but I might not have seen that presser of Dimma's or many of his other pressers.

Still doesn't resolve the issue that we don't seem to be a good enough team to play any type of game system to elite level.
We've played chaos all out attack n been belted by sides that hang back n wait for us to *smile* up n kill us on the rebound.
We've played slow chip n cheat, hold n control footy n been belted by sides that sit on us n wait till we *smile* up, then kill us on the overlap.
We've played backwards, forwards, switch n keepings off n sides just hold formation n pressure us back to the last line of defence because they know we'll *smile* up n turn the ball over so they can kill us on our incompetence.
Question still remains, if the coach has tried different game styles to try n manufacture a way for the team to be successful n play winning finals, but none of them have worked. Who's fault is it? The players or the coach? Just as an aside, who's fault is it when the players decide to give up n just shuffle along in a bunch hoping no one notices that they're no longer trying?

So if the Doggies get kicked out in the first final, does that mean Beveridge is a dud and the dogs should sack him before he does more damage?
BEVERAGE is a great coach as the bullies beat wet coke and now they are beating the dorks and look like a dangerous oponent in the preliminary final ,and we are stuck with that LOSER HANDBRAKE , who is not good enough

So we are going to get assistants possibly Caracella, Montgomery, Sumich and maybe Knights to prop up Dimmer the Untouchable
These assistants can run rings around Dimmer why would they waste their time helping him and not claim the job as theirs?

Dimma Football Club. Paying two GMs of Football, EY review, restructuring, sacking assistants, hiring heaps of new expensive ones - all for the purpose of saving Dimma rather than the RFC.

hard to make sense hey D. Though you could add saving face of Benny and Peggy.

Not at all. I was just asking a question to see if any of the ferals were prepared to take a position without the benefit of hindsight. None did which wasn't surprising.

Morris answering Richo on what Bevo's strengths are?

"He gets all his players to play to their strengths and tells them to concentrate on their strengths"

A simple statement to demonstrate the gulf between a good coach and our sad pretender.

Theres been a lot of talk about our recruiting this week and the fact we promoted from within instead of getting someone from another club

I've been wonderin , given our questionable financial situation i imagine there would be some prioritizing required re funds into our FD.

Perhaps i am being too cynical but i wonder what are the chances we went down this track because the club deemed it more important to prop up dimma and save face than fix our
long term recruiting issues..
So basically recruiting was sacrificed somewhat to allow us to boost the less important assistant coaching ranks when it should have been the other way around

Though like i said perhaps i am being to cycnical...

What questionable financial situation ?

Gale made mention at a Sydney post game event that we'll probably make a loss this year and next years forecast isn't looking good.

Poor Baloo. Gotta give him credit though, he keeps reaching down that barrel looking for something to scrape. Dimma like resilience.
