A question perhaps for the older PREnsders but to me I see a lot of Kevin Sheedy in Daniel Connors. The running style, the messy look, the pale skin, the hair, the aggression..

Anyone agree or am I way off the mark?

Certain similarities.

Sheedy was fanatical about improving himself as a footballer, improving his fitness & skills. Sheedy was all about trying to turn himself into an elite footballer in every respect.

Connors has probably better footy skills than Sheedy at Connor's age.
The challenge for Connors is whether he is prepared to put the same long term intense effort that Sheedy has put in for a lifetime.

Everytime I think of Sheedy I think of his all round contribution to AFL footy. It's mind-boggling.
More than a legend.

Agreed.

His truly become a Icon of not only AFL but Australian Sport.

Let's make sure then that we lock up Connors as coach once he finishes his career.

Different times, different players. Sheeds played most of his footy in the backline, Connors pops up all over the place, running, kicking goals, all the things an excellent player does. If you get the feeling I am a wrap for Connors, then you would be right.

As for Sheeds, he was a rock in defence, and I think I heard him say once that he was not a star player, or words to that effect. Not much got past him and he was as hard at the ball as anyone then or today. But to compare Connors to him, I don't think the comparison is all that relevant.
