Daniel Jackson threads [Merged]

Re: Daniel Jackson

Interesting that the Jacko thread gets raised yet again to bag him after he's given his all yet the Lids and Cotch threads still have cobwebs everywhere. Talk about pick the easy targets but fact is we'll never star if our best players don't perform.

gave him a vote tonight but BT is right: opposition teams stay off him and let him have possession of the ball in the half back/ centre wing and wait for him to turn it over.

It's blatantly obvious.
bad kicking is bad football. Can't question his guts and effort but in the modern game if you can't kick it time to go to the departure lounge.

Do you watch football or look at the stats only. He was essendons best on ground. Terrible decision making and Hurd allowed him to run free knowing he'd turn it over time after time

Yep. Man up everyone else and let him get it on the outside. But we persist.

Yep this is fair. Effort A+. Disposal and decision making, D+.

Top marks for having a red hot go more than i can say for some

This is fact. No one gave more tonight, great multiple efforts.

Made plenty of errors but that's par for the course for Jacko. Doesn't deserve condemnation tonight.

This is fair. He did what we could with his limited skill set. We will never be a finals side if Jackson is our major ball winner.

Essendon's best? Absolute crap. Gee we have some ordinary supporters, and I use that last word loosely. I'm not the only one here who gave Jacko votes tonight. Why aren't you having a crack at them? Pick your targets much?

His stats are pretty good just the same. They are better than most and were even more impressive at 3/4 time before he was spent...even better considering he was our leading contested possession winner.

I don't get that. How could he lead our contested possessions if that was the case?

Re: Daniel Jackson

was okay..but we must ignore the stats, sides are happy to allow jacko and grigg to run free and get possession because their ball use is so terrible most of the time....that said jacko was excellent in his effort but just so frustrating in his decision making

Re: Daniel Jackson

Thought he was awful tonight, but it seemed to be the game plan.

game plan

*smile* around with it
kick it to them
fall over

Turn it up - awful? You're judgement is awful

Re: Daniel Jackson

I say this in all seriousness. He would make a cracking rugby player where he could make the most of his guts, courage, determination etc

Re: Daniel Jackson

im probably in the top 10 DJ backers. I didnt see him do anything good tonight. Admittedly, I was battling rapid onset football depression without my usual crutches.

Out of interest have you said any other players were awful tonight gollywog or did Dan stand alone for that honour? I reckon someone's done a Fine Cotton on us. Got ring in written all over it. :hihi

I reckon they were all pretty awful Rosy. It was real team effort tonight. I gave votes to chaps, rance and Chimp. I was disappointed in some of DJs decision making and execution tonight, but like I said, the game plan was unfathomable and doesnt do a bloke like DJ any favours trying to hit a target 40m backwards.

What, you reckon Robin Nahas was really Clinton King? Could be onto something Rosy.
