Honest opinions of Jackson today ?
Dropped a crucial chestmark in the third quarter cost us a goal
Every time the ball is at his feet fumbles like in the last quarter and Danger kicked the goal from 50 .
I cant see the positives of him being in the team
Thoughts ?

Really? He blanketed Dangerfield when he went onto him...sheessh some people are frustrating.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Gee Whiz. No recognition at all for blanketing Dangerfield in the second half. Went a long way to securing the win I thought. He has his limitations but you have to give him some credit surely.

I'm not a fan at all but doing his job the last few weeks and a better option than anything else we have to replace him
Thoughts ?

Re: Daniel Jackson

Made a couple of typical Jacko blues but overall was very good.

Dangerfield gave Grigg a bath in the first half. Jacko kept him to 11 after half-time. Anyway, Danger is almost untaggable. Star.

The positives of having Jacko in the team are he is a very good team player, super-hard at it, and always does the things we scream about, like tackling, chasing, shepherding and going when it's his turn.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Clangerfield (where r u Tooheys & Disco) beat him hands down (as he did Rance, Grigg etc), no shame in that, the kids a champ.

Thought he was OK though, the odd bad clanger, which with his decision making & skillset he'll have, but was solid.

Re: Daniel Jackson

not a jacko fan as I think he is net liability.

but ... he was good today. :hearton

Re: Daniel Jackson

It seems it doesnt matter what this guy does on the field, the usuals will come out and and not give him credit for a solid performance on their best player today. By the way Jacko didnt go to Dangerfield until after half time. He was instrumental in shutting him down after half time.

yeah grigga had him first and was ok.

jacko very good, was antagonistic off the ball too. usual pest.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Good to see he has learnt the art of releasing a contested handball in a tackle. Took him 8 odd years. Still ducked into some tackles and tried to wrap it up and hope he wasn't pinged but released it free a few times which was surprising.

Re: Daniel Jackson

I reckon Jacko's actually improving. There were a couple of times today by hand, and once by foot when he found Grigg for his last quarter goal, where he showed poise, awareness and vision. He's dumb and a slow learner, but he's a student. And he never gives up.

Edit: Beat me to it Barnzy. A couple of excellent, ride the tackle, spin-to-the-right-spot-and-release handballs.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Probably looking at a different aspect to his game today then some of you guys.. He was sent in to stop a rampaging Dangerfield and done that to a tee. Maybe some of his general play was sloppy but his main role was carried out which helped the tigers get a win today.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Not sure about all this shutting Dangerfield down stuff, he was one of the best players on the ground after half-time.

Re: Daniel Jackson

I was into Jacko early, but got better as the game went on. Was good in patches while tagging Dangerfield.

In fairness if kept Dangerfield to being anything less that BOG today we were probably going to win. Jackson did that in the second half.

Let the haters hate Col. I dont think that Daniel is our best player but boyo he did play a role today and that I will sure acknowledge.

If he was in Richmond colours he probably gets BOG. But yes, agreed valid point Big Col.

As Col was replying to leysy assume thats directed towards him. If you could point out the hate that would be appreciated. Cheers.

Re: Daniel Jackson

I thought Jacko did a good job stopping Danger getting follow up possessions in the 2nd half which he got plenty of in the first half. It is virtually impossible to stop Danger getting that first touch but I thought he tracked him well as the play contined and put body pressure on him so Danger's became single efforts which helped curb his influence in comparison to the first half.

Spot on. Bit like Ablett in that you can't shut them out completely. But you can't allow him to be involved in multiple chains.
