Daniel Jackson threads [Merged]

Re: Daniel Jackson

Years ago there was a thread about a similar Jackson goal against Essendon which was more arse than class; same with last year's goal against Hawthorn. He actually meant this one. Freakish.

Re: Daniel Jackson

He gave Dimma a heart attack when he went for that goal. Have a look at the coaches reaction in the box. It's rather amusing. I do wonder if Jacko would have been dragged had he not kicked the goal. Good game, though, he's becoming quite enjoyable to watch.

Did he really mean to kick it? (question not accusation).

I was watching on TV (Foxtel) and he clearly looked inside several times.

I could swear he was going to kick inside / the TV angle then changes - he gets pushed off the ball / ball goes through.

I'm not convinced he went for it (but regardless - it was a great goal)

Re: Daniel Jackson

OMG. Rosy, have you substituted the old Jackson thread with this new positive one? :o

Yeah he did the right thing and looked inside and saw only King. He held and kicked the ball the correct way for a banana; I'm certain he was shooting at goal. The late push may have cancelled out the Jacko factor - a whimsical visitation from the football gods, perhaps?

I was sitting right behind (from above) the whole play. He initially looked to go inside and it seemed he had a good option in the square but he backed his banana over the snap pass around the corner and went for the goal as a last minute decision. He did actually mean the kick.

Time for people to acknowledge Jacko is no longer a bottom 6 player, this isn't said on the back of this play but of the numerous things he now does for the team. It's taken a long time but Jacko has arrived.

Re: Daniel Jackson

He was initially going to pass it, but seemed to realise that his option was shut down so rolled the dice and got the chocolates.

Re: Daniel Jackson

When Jacko starts slotting impossible goals you know things are going well. For all his faults he's having his best season in years. His value is only heightened with Tuck's absence.

Good point Bull.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Got to hand it to Jacko.
Playing his best season ever imo and playing to a standard I did not think possible.
Talking specifically about hitting targets - used to be poor, now almost reliable.
How the hell did that happen?
Credit to him, as by all reports a top man.
BTW, if anyone else kicked that banana goal it would be adjudged goal of the year.
Not for Jacko as they will assume it was a complete fluke.

It's quite obvious. Jacko, being the brainiac that he is, has always known what the game plan is and what the coach expects of the team. All those passes people think he missed are actually pinpoint lace out passes to where his team mates should have been had they followed instruction.

Now that the rest of the team have lifted, they are getting to where they should be and on the end of Jacko's delivery.

He's always been ahead of his time.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Credit where it's due. Last month he has been excellent. Has eliminated the brain snaps which have led to turnovers and goals; has linked up better reducing the times he has killed momentum because of his under powered kicking and protracted decision making. Every player has to play to strengths and reduce weaknesses and Jacko has done that for the past month. Has picked good options by hand. Only shortcoming he needs to change is opting to shoot when 40 plus out on run, his conversion rate would be under 20%. If he can give off will be perfect.

Re: Daniel Jackson

Time to sit down. We pretty much all agree - Daniel Jackson can play.
