Mongrel and good build are the two parts I can't wait to see.

I reckon Jacko is going to be the big surprise packet next year.

So do I TF.  I think a few people had too higher expectation the year based on a few good games last year.

The key is that in 2004 it was just a FEW games at the end of season that was dead and buried.  It was just a sniff.  Now the hard work starts.  (or at least it did this year)

Players develop better when they learn it the hard way.

I think they have a development strategy for Jacko and are (for a change) following that strategy to make him a better long term prospect not just throwing him to the wolves. ;)

We just need to give him the opportunity to develop the total package.

Tambling, Meyer & Deledio need protection...Coughlan & Jackson could assist in this area.

Dunno how long lids will need it. He is pretty handy with his dukes from what I hear and can more than handle himself.

A good preseason should put a bit of meat on that frame as well skills, but I know what you are saying.

I hope Delo doesn't turn out to be wimpy like Riewoldt, as I can't wait to see the mongrel in him also.

Don't worry about Lid's TF, he fights his own battles.

I hear that when he puts on the gloves, he stings like a bee.

Those muscles looked good during the sprint.

Is more than capable in that department GPB.  Has been mixing it with bigger and badder boys since he was about 9 years old and has never been known to take a backward step, if my sources are reliable and I suggest they are. ;)

I agree that Jackson could become an enforcer, but Lids doesn't need protecting. He had no problem handling the Clampetts earlier in the season and remember that story about getting his nose broken at training, but bouncing straight up and continuing on, even participating in the boxing session that night. I think Captain Blood would have liked this kid. He's Tiger tough.

Hope that Daniel gets another 2 years, with 2006 as a development year, and 2007 as the emergent season.

Was kept out of the side by Hilton in the latter stages of 05 when he was showing his best form at Coburg in the midfield.

Would like to see Daniel persisted with in a number of run with roles in the early part of next season and see how his confidence is.

Considering Jacko was a mid to late pick in 03 and supposed to be left to play school footy and complete his VCE in 04 why are we once again sniping at our own players?
To be honest 05 has been his first real season and he has not done much wrong.
Aside from a couple of stand out early picks each year most kids take three to four years to grow up to AFL standard.
All the bagging and whinging that they aren't instant superstars won't make an ounce of difference. The simple fact is it takes time for the kids to develop.

Good post TM.

Does that mean next year his career is on the crossroads?
Nah, it means by the end of next year he will have shown that he will mature into a quality player for us.
