Interesting thread this as it shows the two types of personalities on this site. There are those who are saying that we should hold onto him regardless of what he shows in the second half of the season because they are compulsively loyal to any player in black an yellow. Then there are others who see the opportunity to gain extra picks in a draft that oozes quality and depth, albeit by making tough decisions.

It is being said at the moment that second round draft picks this year will be like normal first rounders and that a third-fourth rounder would be like a normal second-third rounder. If that's the case we could delist a player and effectively get a normal third rounder for him without even trading.

I question his actual pace, kicking and footy-smarts but I like his size and supposed aggression. I would love to see him come on like Raines and Tuck did but if he's going to the time is now.

Other players under the gun in my opinion are - Limbach, Rodan, Gaspar, Roach, Chaffey, Krakouer, Moore and maybe Hall.

I think you could put Harts and of course Staff in there Jayfox

Moore is in the same boat as Jacko. Needs to show something over the next 10 weeks (he made a good start on Sunday)

I think Humm is gone (cannot break into the team and to old to give another year on the rookie list) and I don't think they will give Howat another year as a rookie either

I think couple of players like Krakouer, Hartigan, and Rodan are likely to be traded.

Personally I think Jackson needs at least one more year. He needs to establish himself as either a forward or a defender.

My list of departures would be

Stafford - Retire
*smile* - Trade or Delist
Chaffey - Retire
Rodan - Trade or Delist (sorry champ)
Limbach - Delist (just not up to it)
Hartigan - Trade only (maybe to the Bummers)
Krakouer - Trade only (maybe to the Roos)

Trade for picks only!

Roach and Jackson need to be tried in the seniors now in order to make a judgement decision on their future.

If Rodan wants to stay on the list he needs to become a specialist forward pocket like Matera or Milne. He needs to except that he will never be a AFL midfielder. He is very good on the lead, a dangerous crumber and a good kick for goal.

Kellaway onto the veterans list with Richo

Hall, Tivendale, and Knobel need to stay at this stage.

So I would like to see

1) Roach on a wing (replaces Coughlan)
2) Jackson across Half forward or half back (injured at the moment, to come into the seniors in the next few weeks)
3) Rodan in the forward pocket for a few games (replaces Krakouer for a while)

Yeah the Stafford one speaks for itself. He will retire at years end without question. Hartigan I would only get rid of if we can get a trade. I certainly wouldn't delist him.

I completely agree on Humm and Howat as we need to fully take advantage of the players who go undrafted this year as they would probably be 3rd rounders in a normal year. We definitely need our full compliment of rookies and you just have to take a chance and assume that the new kids will be better than both Humm and Howat.

I think AFL rule is minimum 3 players must be de listed by each club so there has to be 3 gone with it being easy in my opinion to find 4 or 5 more to go to.

I like the idea of trading for draft picks but this draft will only yield 3rd round picks at best. No club in their right mind (even the kangas) will hang on to their first 2 picks and would take a player of quality to get anything better.

Players who could be offerer for trade such as say a Hartigan or Hall or Rodan or Tivendale will attract nothing better than a 3rd or 4th  round pick at this draft. This would do me anyway especially for Tivendale, Hall or Rodan.

Young Jacko will be a tiger next year

What craig you want more than a 3rd round pick for krak ;D

some must go

1. An older ruck from the Swans
2. An older smaller type who likes baseball
3. A little fijian
4. North melbourne legend's son
5. Rookie mid from WCE
6. Red head from Yarra valley

It's sad to see departures but these guys either aren't getting games or if they are, aren't doing much.

Hmmmmall in the reserves this week.

Not naming any names.

Howat and Graeme stay as rookies
Richo, kella, gas become vets.

gives us six picks, 1 PSD pick and a rookie pick.

I thought you could only have 2 veterans?

Well i would like 1 veteran(richo) and 5 rookies. But we are poor and cant afford that many.

Would hope that is not the cast this year ckeckers

DDT you still think Gas will be on the list next year?

Re. Rookies DDT we would want to take more than bloody 1! We will keep Graham but Howat will be gone if he doesn’t get elevated to seniors and shows a lot. No use keeping some guy in his early 20s as a rookie for more than a year.

We can afford 5 rookies if we sacrifice a senior list spot which was what we were going to do last year until the Tiges got spooked into drafting Whitey in the PSD.

All that means is delisting one more player. For example someone like a Limbach or McGuane could be delisted to open up the senior list and allow for another quality kid in the draft, then he could be re drafted as a rookie as 1 of 5, along with Graham and 3 others that may miss the draft. Limbach would then still be at the behest of the tigers and could then be developed a little longer to see if he comes on. We cant have too many speccie development types on the senior list as it is just too small.
I cant see other clubs falling over themselves to draft Limbach or McGuane so it wouldnt be too risky of an exercise for mine.

Having one less senior list player in preference for an extra 3 rookies to be developed is a better result and a much more efficient way to turn over the list and find youngsters that can play but that is just my opinion.

Gas might make it, he's a veteran.
yeah I just felt Howat might be worth one more to make sure he isn't going to be the next Voss. The next 2nd round rookie may or may not be

Whatever.

Mcguane /Limbach will need to produce next year

Surely krak is worth at least 1 first round selection down there at Arden Street? :hihi :hihi
