Youngsters are great, they offer hope.
But are our youngsters the real deal?
I have come up with some probable outcomes of some of our youngsters.
Brett Deledio...excempt from this analysis
Raines... moves like his dad, but hasnt really dominated even at Coburg level, would be a huge suprise to see him cementing a spot on "merit" in 2006. Unlikely to make it at this stage
Jay Shultz...make or break year. Has great talent, more than any other young tall on our list. Wont show his best potential till Richo retires as he is a natural forward. Attitude shocking, but we got no choice have to keep and persist.
Tommy Roach.... Has speed and .....has speed. IMHO would have to improve a heap to stay on the list next year. Works hard but a prime candidate to be delisted at this stage
Dean Polo... ungainly hardworking Nice size dominated at coburg at the end of last season. Yet to make debut ...too early to call.
David Rodan...runs around like a chook without a head. not verastile yet quick, good attitude but wasteful by foot. Just off a knee reco. Unlikely to make it.
Dean Limbach... attitude problem but not without talent. IMHO prime candidate to be delisted at this stage.
Brett Hartigan... great speed but wasteful by foot, good attitude, and has admirers in the coaching team.... will play 100 games.
Daniel Jackson... has the tools, but has no football nouse, his future will be determined by his ability to understand the game and have a role....At this stage has 1 year to show something so...Unlikely to make it.
Krakouer....has 5 years in the system, still has not changed his body shape...delist
Hyde.. terrific attitude understands the game plan...limited in ability....will play 100 games
Mcguane...has talent great athlete...has showed nothing ...been injured too early to call.
Pattison...slow lumbering...courageous and has endurance. 198cm. I don't think he is good enough Unlikely to make it.
Danny Meyer. skillful... nice speed. Has the talent....will play 100 games
Tambling...injury prone...quick..over-hyped...the club will lose too much face if he wont play 100 games so he will.
Thursfield...given an opportiunity before he deserved it. he took it with both hands, has potential. limited in his ability... in the tigers backline anyone can play 100 games...look at mark chaffey!
Foley. Sorry red, he can get the ball, and he fights hard, but...his kicking isnt good enough, a poor mans Craig Lambert IMHO Unlikely to make it.
This years draftees very early call.
JON would of preferred Varcoe, looks a bit too much like Stephen Koops
Clever... looks and moves like Jeff Hogg. A beautiful kick lovely on the lead and a nice pair of hands. Cant jump to save his life.
Casserly... lovely skills. great pace...soft as butter
