I admire the way Sheeds thinks outside the square and the whole committee had the gonads to go for a youngster.

As for alternatives, of the senior players, the Johnsons are both out of form, Mark Johnson is probably out of favour as well, MacPhee, Lucas and Fletcher probably don't want the job and Hird probably doesn't either. Peverill is struggling for a game and Rioli would be just a silly appointment.
Who is left? Hille? MacVeigh? Bolton?

Bit wierd. Hille is OK, has his moments, but not captain material. I thought Lucas was an obvious choice. But both say a lot about Ess slide.
