Havn't any idea what our strategy at kick ins is and the problem is that David doesn't know either.

Last week the tactic seemed to be, assemble 5 Tigers including Simmo or Patto at one corner of the centre square, kick it there and hope weight of numbers won us the ball.

This week it was the long bomb to the centre or the wing.

Watching us kick out last week was painful...there were 20+ kick outs and we struggled to clear our back 50 almost every time.

Hated him as a player, but if he can instill his hardness and tenacity to our boys, then definitely keep him. I understand he is our defense coach, but if kick-ins aren't working, surely its TW's job to rectify that

Apparently he has major influence in the coaches box on game day and is highly rated!!!!

He has little to do in the coaches box on game day, and is out of contract at end of year ;)

He is the man responsable for our run and carry game, which is going pretty well.

Although our kick ins have been a worry for years. We seem to always go for the short option when nothing is on down field and then its a long kick to a contest, that is plan b, obviously plan a doesnt work too well. The opposition will more than likely give you the short option in the pocket.

As someone who has worked closely with our coaches would you like to gve us a rundown on individual responsibilities and roles?

where do I start.
Most of the work is already done well before match day, planning, match ups, rotations etc.
Very rarely do the assistants have much to say before the game or at half time although do break into the specific roles to address players for a least 2 minutes at quarter and 3 quarter time..
In the coaches box, not much is said although Wallet takes notes from his "" media monitors"" in the adjoining box in regards to any changes that the experts in the media might suggest. Occasionly he will run with them but not often.
Before the game, Royal might go over clearnace and stoppage set plays although this is practised on the ground in the warm ups, watch closely ;)
A few of the roles have changed in the box, still cant work out why Paul Armstrong and Gordon Casey are still in there but thats another story ;)

TintheT2,

Outside of gameday, how much value do royal, king and rawlings add to the group? Does McCrae have much of a role on match day, ie is he in the box etc, or does he mainly just watch from the stands?

McRae is normally on the interchange talking, supporting & instructing the players as they come on & off general.

I would imagine Voss will try & get McCrae up to the Gold Coast.

Who is the young fella that sits on Plough's left in the box. Watching the Freo game he was between Plough and Royal and had a head set on.

BDog

Dunno who he is but he's the one doing the magnet board of current match ups I think.

Incidently some of the funniest shots from a coaches box this year have been the North match ups guy trying to keep up with Laidley.
