Hopper, you must have some idea, unlike alot of other posters who want to have an opinion in something they have no knowledge whatso ever. For those who dont know who David Wheadon is, he actually used to run the coaches courses for the AFL so coaches  get the certificates to coach. All of the younger coaches in the AFL would have completed this course.
An extremely knowlegable person who ran Tiger TAFE this year., he will no doubt bob up elsewhere. Try asking any of the players about David Wheadon input. Will be sadly missed.

Doesn't matter how good a teacher someone is in a classroom it's their coaching ability that's relevant to us. I can understand why you'd be "jack"ed off just the same. ;)

Well always been known to me as the guy who carried the clipboard for spud. ;)

No, the albino guy was the clipboard holder for Danny, and he now sits next to Eade!
I noticed that too. Who is that guy, 'cos i thought he was wheadon also. :spin

Tony Walsh i think

Tony Walsh it is, top of the class DF :thinking

Speaking as someone without any specific club knowledge I haven't thought our forward performances have been that great this year or last year. Our conversion rate for inside 50s and the sheer number of points we have kicked in the last two years hasn't been good.

In saying that a seven year stint is a good run for anyone and in a coaching role "refreshing" the role by getting in new ideas to build on the old isn't a bad thing at all. So Wheadon in my opinion hasn't done badly if only jusdged by the length of his appointment.

Still if anyone can teach our forward line how Fev now handles the drop punt I would be most appreciative. From the little I have read the different grip seems to improve accuracy by reducing the ball drop - reportedly does for Fev and a few others anyway. Would be nice for our guys to try it out to see if it would also work for them.

Thanks guys. I was really intrigued by his identity, especially when I realised it wasn't David Wheadon.

The way I see this issue, Wheadon may well be very good at his job, but that doesn't mean TW doesn't have someone better in mind.

I'd reckon very few of us would have any idea of the quality of David's work.  I'd presume there must be something in it for TW to keep only Wheadon on the coaching staff upon TW's arrival.

I'm happy to thank anybody for 7 years of diligent service.  Thanks and good luck, David.

I have no real idea about the specifics of this one. I only know that, as a teacher myself, we have a shelf life in our work environments. After a few years it's time to move on. This means we learn more about teaching and the people left behind get to learn from others with different teaching styles. Most likely Wheadon will be missed, but it doesn't mean somebody with new tricks isn't ready to step in. I'll be very interested to see who fills this hole and if another is taken on board. Still vey much like the idea of Michael Voss on our team if we could pull it off.

According to the H/S David is on his way to the Cattery to be assistant coach to Bomber Thompson.

Excellent news, success doesn't seem to follow David Weadon so the Cats can have him.

Probally the most overated person in AFL ranks.

Cheers for your kind words ToO...I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it...not big on milestones.

With the exception of rd.1 2007 of course.  ;)

Yeah, Razor will qualify for the Father Son !! :hihi :clap

All the different ideas of how a forward should kick the ball could become confusion. Take Richo for example he always kicks better when he doesn't think too much about it. I love those goals of his when he arcs around immediately when he gets the ball and bangs it through. Not much mechanics go in to that I wouldn't have though.

Not overated by the AFL. You will find he is currently rewriting the AFL coaching manual to be released soon.
He will join the much acknowledged doctor in Chris Bradshaw(ex tiger) and PRE favorite Duncan Kellway ;)
