I can't believe we are questioning the captain of the club?

Show some respect!

The best transformations are made from the top down to the bottom. The comments found in this thread are no different to the articulate & disrespectful comments made to the so called "easy target" players (& in some case coaches) of our club.
By all reports his team mates are very happy with the choice of Kane as captain for this season.
They had a considerable part in his slection which as we all know was a rigorous process.
The results are speaking for themselves both in the results thus far and the development of young players who will replace Sugar soon enough.

Spot on.

Two different topics here. Not debating if we should have got him or if he should retire.

The issue is should he be captain. Internally people in positions of power spoke glowingly of Kane's ability to address the group and tell it like it is. He sets the tone and speaks the truth to the group and individuals when required. Is admired by the playing group for the way he goes about his preparation and his straight ahead style that has lead to his body copping a battering.

The other issues ar open to debate but this one is done.

No doubt Joel Bowden will be a replacement and as the club climbs the ladder it will be great to have a more polished media performer in place to speak to the media but don't under estimate the ground work the Kane has done in getting us to that position.

Some very harsh assessments. One poor game does not make for an ineffective leader! Do not allow the bump turn into a chasm.

Excellent post.

Common garden variety supporters simply don't have the knowledge to judge a captain's performance. That's something that only those in the know could understand and appreciate.

Kane Johnson is a very hard at it, determined player who is forever putting his body on the line.  By all accounts was the outstanding choice of his peers and the coaches.

Eat 'Em Alive Kane.

gee whiz guys, 2nd week back from his hammy, he tagged their best and most important midfielder right out of the game! Zero impact from Josh Carr thanks to Johnno.
Sugar was interviewed on Club corner last night and said Terry had given him the task of taking the oppositions best midfielder each week. Felt he was doing an OK job on that front but admitted he should be getting more of the ball himself offensively.
That should come in the ensuing weeks as he gets back some match fitness.
