Yep, saw Limbach on Sunday morning.

He was there with Pattinson, as spectators, watching a few of their mates going through the exercises.

good news..any sign of arch or gilmour

Not that I saw.

Terry, last night, said that Limbach had put on 11 kgs since last year. That would make him 192cm and 85kgs, so he still has another 10kg to add, but it's still a noted effort.

That is some effort - even allowing for natural growth.

One of the possible positives from quick muscle/mass development such as this is the compound effect it has on confidence. Dean sees how adding muscle helps his game in a short period of time which inspires confidence in his game - which further inspires him to really hit the weights in the hope of continuing the quantum improvement.

The students are not so much arguing that we should have taken a tall at #8 but that we should have taken more of a ball-winner, I think. Although Drum has some fans. Some students think that J.O-N is too much of a receiver and not a very prolific one.

But he is a super athlete, maybe the best of the crop and a baby. It's not that he's just an athelete. He can play. He might be a star.

Not to doubt you Diarrhea (you know there is too much respect for that  ;D) but here is an extract of JON from Wispey

2. He has the tricks to turn a game in one quarter. He is genuinely classy. Clean, silky with a bit of magic.

3. No one after him in my rankings would appear to represent a better all-round package of attributes. Jarrad is a great height for a wing/flank, among other possibilities down the track. He also appears to have a reach advantage (unconfirmed). Reliable kick with high hurt factor. Lightning quick. Can take a huge grab. Excellent evasion. Happy to get his own ball. "Never" flustered. Plays in a manner that suggests he will thrive on AFL centre stage once he has settled in.

4. Only about 3 of the next 15 players in my rankings are similarly reliable all round kicks and probably none of those 3 are quite as good.

5. Despite his speed and silkiness, he wins much more than his share of his own ball - in one-in-one physical tussle contests or inside traffic etc. He is no downhill-skier or stranger to hardball gets or to displays of determination/desperation.

I've only seen him play two games, BO, so I don't have a firm opinion one way or the other on whether he is only an outside player. "Some students" does not include me. I can understand people thinking that there is not a lot of contested leather won at HBF.

I'm inclined to think JON was a good choice, maybe a very good choice.

I like a lot of Wisbey's work but I think he can be a bit too enthusiastic at times. I'm inclined to water down his comments.

You have seen two more games than me Mr Dyer, just offering another opinion. I still have neither a good or bad opinion of JON - I just HOPE he is a superstar!

I'm pretty sure we totally agree on JON, Ken (I keep forgetting to drop the BO ;D).

The thing that sticks in my mind was Miller talking about what a good kid he is. They trust his capacity for learning. That's what excites me about JON. He's probably going to keep improving over time and he already has the glamour and athleticism.

The right stuff?

Maybe having a kid like JON around is just the thing to for some of our second year players like Dean Limbach. (Sidestep back on to topic. ;D)
