Dear Kane,
I refer to the following comment attributed to you in the HeraldSun.
Johnson expects a backlash from Tigers fans this week, but said his teammates must band together and weather any storm.
"It's going to be interesting to see how they go, they are a fickle lot, but we can't worry about them. If we worry about them we are going to be destroyed because they will probably be into us," he said.

I sincerely hope you've been quoted out of context because I find it a very disappointing statement coming from a captain I have nothing but the utmost respect and support for.
There are two extremes of supporters. Those who get stuck right into the team and those who calmy accept anything that's dished up without question.
By far the majority are in between those extremes. They aren't "fickle". They'll celebrate the good times and they'll suffer during the poor times.
They still buy their memberships, they still attend the games, they still fly the Tiger flag, they donate money to the club, they volunteer their time, they attend official functions, they wear the yellow and black colours with pride.
They've suffered mediocrity for more years than they care to remember but they still love and support their team.
They also love to talk football and share their opinions. I can understand the players not wanting to hear what the supporters are thinking this week but hopefully that's because the truth hurts rather than simply dismissing them as being fickle.
As you said the Tiges sh!t themselves on Friday night but I hope they're made of stronger stuff than to be destroyed by supporters opinions. I actually hope the players are feeling the same way themselves.
Next week is the first game of the rest of the season. Here's hoping for a re-group and a far more committed effort across the board.
Eat 'Em Alive Tiges,
