Getting this pick was easy and always going to favour us but now the hard work of selecting a quality kid comesScreenshot_20250823_194005_Samsung Internet.jpg

If there's 1 player i don't mind from another club its Nick Larkey.
He was named captain of the Roo's.
Well deserved

Top 5 these days is really top 10.

Significant drop in quality IMO from top 5 to top 10 prospects.

So I'd like Cumming and Grlj to make it of course, but I don't consider them the 'gold' option that a genuine top 5 pick is, like Lalor. If one of Cumming or Grlj fails I would be disappointed but not like I would if Lalor did.

Yet if one of them doesn't come good you'll be whining like a stuck pig.

How about you stick your neck out and tell us who we should have taken.

Or maybe you should STFU in the future.
To be fair it’s not his full time professional job.

If my surgeon accountant stuffed up my tax return and cost me $k50 I wouldn’t expect them to tell me to stfu when I complained and do it myself next time. But I would fire them.

Expecting perfection on every pick though is highly unrealistic.

We have had sooo many misses since 17
We need these picks to be quality.

21 seems the bust but I go and read that draft again and it’s father son at the top, JHF who left norf and then we picked they eyes out of long term injuries. Carlton got Motlop before we got sonsie. Ouch and ouch.

Hindsight nwm instead of gibcus would have been massive. Many many missed on Warner and Geelong got Dempsey as a rookie. Just don’t see a heap of talent (on average) after our picks.

But yes - No doubt if you hit the lottery we could have stayed up longer. Is that realistic though? Your expectations are high (which is usually necessary for greatness) - they are also going to lead to a lot of frustration.
