Now that the dust has settled and the Eagle has finally landed at Punt Road let's indulge in a little nostalgia.

Déjà vu(Ian Stewart) All over again

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Did you try to read all the postings on PRE’s Dyer-Tribe wall
Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before
It's like Ian Stewart all over again

Day by day we see our membership rising
Started with a bang, now a roar
Day by day we countdown ‘til we play Carlton(Cuz v Judd)
while the TV networks all keep score

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Could your eyes believe the postings on PRE’s Dyer-Tribe wall
Did that voice inside you say I've heard it all before
It's like Ian Stewart all over again

One by one we see the old Punt Road ghosts rerising(KB, KS, ......)
Stumblin' 'cross from the ‘G
When the light gets dim
Day after day another Momma's crying
She's lost her precious child
To a tribal war that has no end

Did you hear 'em talkin' 'bout it on the radio
Did you stop to read the postings on PRE’s Dyer-Tribe wall
Did that voice inside you say
I've heard it all before
It's like Ian Stewart all over again
It's like Deja Vu all over again

Ben Cousins is in elite company as he embarks on his journey at Tigerland. The ex-Eagle becomes the ninth captain of another AFL/VFL club to join Richmond in its 100 years of league football, and just the third since World War 1. The only two other skippers from rival league clubs to play for the Tigers in the past 90 years, have been Ian Stewart and David Thorpe

2 BIG differences = stewarts troubles came after footy .
Cousins troubles came when playing footy

Some people may not like to hear this.

But Stewart had plenty of problems off-field while playing footy.
It's just that in the 60s & 70s, these were covered up.

Some of these were while he was still at StKilda.

Very true.

Some might want to look up what St Kildas coach was at the time Stewart left StKilda.
