Everyone be warned....if you were in any doubt about how *smile* sees the success of the GC side then now you know.
To host Kent at his Toorak home to convince him tells me that by hook or by crook, the GC team will have a flag within 5 years of its start.... #@#*% me!!!!

Watch the run they'll get with umpiring decisions, watch the Tribuanal decisions, it'll be geared and engineered for a successful outcome, whilst we long sufferring Melbourne fans from ALL CLUBS who have stood in the rain week after week, year after bloody year, been shuffled from this ground to that ground, sold games to survive have to cop it in the #$#@!!

Fair Dinkum Im angry!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

trust me

i don't even think we know the half of it

wrong but understand why they are doing it as they are

they know we aren't going anywhere

sooner Vlad gets out of the AFL the better, i hate union leaders!

I don't feel as strong as you but I must admit, I raised a eyebrow myself when I heard Vlad had the kid and his gf stay at his house to help convince him to sign with Gold Coast/swap codes.

I think Vlad very much stepped over the line on that one, first it was his mouth, now his actions are really starting to push the boundaries of his job description.

He can justify it as good for the code, but at the end of the day he has personally helped a club sign a player which is grossly unfair to ALL 16 existing clubs who he wouldn't do that for.

Poor form.

Well we have seen the AFL give an open cheque book to the Swans to get them success, and we will see the same sort of thing with GC17 and West Sydney if they get up. It will make it even more difficult for teams like Richmond to be successful.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely eh Vlad?

RFC are always caught betwixt and between.

From one side we have the open cheque book to make expansion teams successful. Then we have the drip-feed system to keep the insolvent clubs alive, that's not quite an open cheque book but still exerts pressure. Then we have the powerful lobby of West Coast and Adelaide with their pretty much unfettered control over their states. Finally, the buddy-buddy deals that Collingwood and Essendon negotiated for themselves several years ago that sees a greater proportion of the pie go into their pockets.

Thing is, all the clubs can't be successful at the same time, that's the nature of competition-winners and losers.

If you keep pulling strings to help teams become winners, it is at the expense of others.

And don't Richmond supporters know it!

notice when an apparent good news story unfolds, he is all about taking credit. When the hard questions are asked, he gets all grumpy and aggressive, just like a typical bully.

Sorry not Kent.....I meant Hunt..

Be careful not to mix those two words up...be an understandable Freudian slip though.

I'm looking forward to him playing and waiting for the first commentator to mispronounce his name on national tv ;D

Agree that the suport being pumped into the GC has gone too far, and sadly, it is now probably time for a concerted push by the existing clubs for it to stop. I am still amazed at how far the support has gone.

Take the top 15 picks (or 15 out of the top 20) from any of the last drafts going back 5 or 10 years, and think of all those players in the one team at the one time, combine those with the kids they have now - will provide a super team once they are 3 or 4 years into the system.

If I was a Brisbane supporter, look out for the 3 repeat effort will be blown away.

Look out other supporters when your players get pouched and your handed a second or third round speculative pick as compensation.

How do the teams like St Kilda - they have had to work so hard for their 1 flag, and GC are being handed one in 5 years. The last team to enter the AFL, the dockers were afforded no such luxuries and they are still doing it hard.

Why make the competition so unbalenced

Answer Demiteriou can become delerious at his successful entry of a new team into the AFL and he will personally take the credit for their win.

Clearly a conflict of interest and outside the role of a CEO to host a single player and promote them to one club over and above the other 16. Why wasn't he pushed to Richmond, or Brisbane for that matter?

Did you cut and paste this from an old Sydney Swans thread Phil?

Oh and by the way, you forgot about the Brownlow Medals.
