Richo, Polo, Newman - these guys have played when logic would dictate that their injuries keep them on the sidelines. Is this a sign of desperation in the coaches that we need to send on maimed players on the field to try and get a win ? Or are we just being stupid with how we're treating our better players ?

Or has the old Tiger Spirit reappeared ? The Francis Bourke type "play while you can still breath and walk" determination to march into battle wearing the Yellow & Black. Being the optimist after last nights game, I'd like to think that spirit is slowing makes it's way back to Punt Road.

If they werent right THEY would say so. look at Simmo, HE wanted to be in the 2's to get fit. If the boys are willling and able and passionate to get out there regardless, let them go. they are professional athletes and they are the only ones that know thier own bodies.

Dont forget our captain, playing with a busted hand!

I'd like to think these guys are drawing a line in the sand and saying to their team mates, this it what the club, the jumper means to me, we're down, some of us are hurting, times could be better but I'm there for you, my team mates.......stupidly with a brain completely muddled by russian vodka, is it this that makes us f*cking Australians and as an extension after 27 years, Tiger supporters......the chips are down, fate is against us, the world says ya cant win and for some reason we stand, we're hurt, but we dont bloody give in......for Chris Newman to do what he did in the last quarter last night is for me, smashed and drunk in Moscow, the quintessential reason why I love being an Australian and love being a Tiger....simple as that........makes no sense?? probably.........

i thought initially it was ridiculous to play richo with his half his face fractured, but after the game listening to terry wallace`s reasoning behind it i thought it was a master stroke.
it sets a good example to the young players, by saying look at how much richo loves the club, and still wants to don the sacred yellow and black guernsey despite having a double fracture to both the eye socket and nose and 13 stitches.
hopefully the message gets through to them that that is what the tradition of this club is about.
if a bit of that can rub off onto them it is a good thing.
