2 weeks in and the season could not have started any worse.
I was so optimistic at the start of the season. I probably got caught up in the Cuz hype along with everyone else, but I really thought this year would be different. I was thinking top 8 (only just) and better skills on show.
So far:
1. The Cuz experiment has failed (at least on field..obviously Membership is way up!)
2. Got pantsed in front of 87,000 and on National TV by my most hated team.
3. Skills deplorable.
4. Despite more competitive showing V Geelong I find it heartbreaking to be 16th and worse than Melbourne and Fremantle.
5. No apparent game plan. Still last (I think) in tackles.
6. Too many poorly skilled players continue to wear the Richmond jumper: Sanchez, Sarge, Edwards, King. Simmonds looking really slow as well.
7. The fact our percentage is minus 103 points will be hard to make up. When we win it's usually by small margins so that may equate to 4-5 wins needed to make up the lost percentage. So you could argue we are 0-4 at the moment.
8. No sign of Cotch or Coggs. Sugar extended time out. (I still reckon he's a good tagger)
Only positives I can come up with:
1. Membership
2. Alex Rance, Nahaasssssss !!!
3. Morty
4. Richhhhoooooo !!!
I know I'll probably get howled down here for being overly negative but I don't care.
I love this club but the way they continue to kick me in the guts each and every week has left me feeling totally gutted. If you told me we'd be 0-2 and in 16th spot below Melbourne and Shockers I'd have said you are on drugs.
