PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Now, I'm the eternal optimist (read brightsider if you will) but I had a well planned speech of conversion to darkness prepared up until at least half way through the 3rd quarter. I consigned myself to provide my thoughts even if we clawed out a win against poor opposition. My over-riding feeling is we got away with a win against a poor side - and an underdone one at that.

Simmonds - very ordinary. Pattison was almost more effective. Who is teaching these blokes to jump about 30mins too early - surely not Monkorst??

Foley - I adore the way this bloke plays the game.

Deledio - floats in and out. Damaging but inconsistent. A long way from elite footballer.

Tambling - hate bagging a fellow Territorian, but his first half was some of the most invisible football I've witnessed. I'm assuming he was given a half time rocket - but it shouldn't take that much.

King - can accept the odd clanger for the example he sets. I love him, but still cringe when he gets it.

McMahon - I have been hopeful on this bloke. But he's a downhill skier. I'd have been a better pick at 19 - let alone a Selwood.

schulz - I actually like his composure in the back half. Might work after all.

Johnson - I know he works hard, has ok smarts and is tough. But I'm 198cm and 125kg and I'd back myself over 10m against this bloke. A long way from real captaincy material I'd say.

Moore - little point being a 3rd/4th defender if you kick so badly. As much a liability as an asset.

Just my 5c. Don't get me wrong. I loved watching us win. But I thought the holes were still as evident as ever. I'm relieved and very concerned at the same time. Your thoughts are welcome.
