What happened to Dean over the draft period and why did RFC all of a sudden change their mind.
He was delisted and promised a spot on the rookie list, did all the Richmond promo stuff trained and travelled with the team only to recieve a phone call 30mins before the rookie draft with an apology. This leaves the kid in a terrible position without a club and without enought time to get an offer from another club.
Looks like he could have been a big time Goal Scorer with a bit more weight!!

Are you related to Limbach or could you be his manager?

They should of kept Dean and turfed out either McGuane or Moore.

Dean put in plenty of hard yards off his own initiative post season doing all he could to be fit and ready when pre-season training started. It's a pity he didn't get picked up by someone. Where is he playing now? Hope he has a standout season and catches the eye of the AFL selectors next year.

Was it a case of too little, too late? :-\

Question: Did Limbach get screwed?

Answer: Yes.

Nuff said. I said plenty when it happened...I don't think I need to repeat any of it...probably to the happiness of all on here ;)

And then we drafted Kingsley....sigh....

He is playing at Williamstown in the VFL this year.

he got screwed over badly, how moore got a spot on the list before deano i'll never know

if he's good enough and has a good year at willie he could easily get picked up

No.
Should he have been given an assurrance he would be picked up again by the club? No.
Did the club handle the situation badly? Yes.

Bit precious aren't we. It's a tough game and Limbo was assessed to be below the standard. The club didn't owe him an explanation, just like th ones who didn't pick him up. Something of a vindication of the decision I would have thought. He got a shot at a great gig and fell just short. As they say in the classics ... it happens.

I don't thing the Dog was overly versatile either. FF or FP were about his only positions. Wasn't tall enough for KP or fast enough for his height. He'll be a really good player just below AFL standard though, if that helps.

Don't know whether he got screwed or not but keeping gas hall and moore and letting him go, he,d have to be disappointed.

All players that actually made it to senior level, r42. Limbo never fired a shot. The others, as questionable as they may be - deserve a little more consideration.

No, Limbo didn't get screwed.

It's no use comparing Limbo against other players that belong to a different group.
It has previously been mentioned that McGuane & Moore should have gone instead.
My view is you can't compare apples with oranges.

Limbach was a marginal draft choice, who was given the opportunity of playing either FF or FB.
In his time, he failed to take full advantage of that opportunity.
Up forward, he came under increasing pressure from Schulz, Hughes. Now, Riewoldt's arrival would have made him ........
He chose not to demand an opportunity at FB.

With McGuane & Moore, both are demanding to take greater responsibility in a very weak area on the Tiger list, ie defence. Mind you, both are lucky that the Tigers are weak there.
My esteem for MCguane has grown since he has taken on FB responsibilities in games where he was on a "hiding to nothing", the Sydney game being a good example.
Both will come under increasing pressure to rise to the next level, if they are to succeed.

A lesson in life.
Sometimes we fail to take advantage of the opportunities given to us.
Sometimes others take better advantage of those same opportunities than we can.
Sometimes others get easier opportunities than we do.
We can only take the best advantage of those opportunities that come to us.
There's no blame to it, that's just the way it is in life.

It applies to Limbach on the Tiger list.
It applies to the Tigers in the scheme of the AFL.

Watched a lot of him at Coburg last year and didn't impress me one bit. Looked Lazy and not good enough to be AFL standard, remember hardly got in the best at Coburg and played alot in the Coburg reserves early in the year.

Very philosophical, and probabley right as well!

For a minute there, I thought he must have been sdeen with Lara Bingle - but I suppose if that were the case, there would be no need to pose the thread topic as a question.
