OK, I concede that they couldn't go up but they could certainly go down to third.
Granted that means they would still be playing the Bulldogs in the 2nd v 3rd final (whatever it gets called these days) but isn't there an MCG v Dump issue here and does that matter when a final is between two Melbourne teams? By that I mean, will a higher placed MCG-based team always get the home ground advantage over a Dump-based team and vice-versa, or does home ground advantage in the finals only apply at a state level?
