I think you'll find Dimattina, Matthew Clarke and many others were all given the arse in the time C. Schwab was left in charge of the list. There was a window after KB was fired and before Jeans got to RFC where Cameron swept 10+ blokes out of the place.

A black time.

Cameron Schwab was never in charge of our list - at any time - people like Doug Vickers ran that part of the club (just ask Alan Jeans).

I was a trainer with the under 19's in '91 and Dimma was a nice guy but I never thought he was going to be an AFL footballer..but he was and a very handy one.
He had a very travelled way to playing AFL. He was at the Tiger under 19's in '91 and was kept on the senior list in '92 but never played a game. Was delisted and played with Sandringham in '93 and some games with Carlton as a supp list player. Was a supp list player with Essendon in '94 and finally got drafted to the Doggies for '95.
(I'm pretty sure I've got that right) His brother Andrew was at Collingwood for 2 seasons as well.

Matty Clarke was given the flick in favour...what for it...Adam Slater!!!! Bit of a boo boo that one. James Thiessen went on to play in a flag for the Crows. Chris Curran went to Collingwood. But lucky Nathan Bower had an illustrious career for the Tigers as did Duncan Kellaway and Nick Daffy...so it wasnt all a great loss.

He did ok coming back from that big knee injury (which I think he did in a U-19 game out at Arden Street??).

As for Slater (and his mate), well that's what happens when people judge who to keep after watching only a couple of finals matches rather than the whole bloody season....... :bash

Tiger, how did "Phantom's" draft pick no. 40 Wayde Mills go, I think he played in the back pocket?

Frank Dimatinna was a rover (from 1964 to 1968) when young KB arrived in 1965 and missed one or two games due to an injury so KB jumped ahead of him. Then couldn't get back into a permanent spot in the team. The other competition came from someone called Billy Brown, Francis Bourke (who was named as a rover in 1967), and Don Davenport.

Wow, Francis Bourke as a rover ??? ??? You learn something new everyday hey. Amazing considering where he finished up playing. A legend in the true sense of the word.

Francis Bourke
Rover to wing to half back flank to centre half back. He played CHB against Len Thompson a brownlow medalist ruckman in one final game and demolished him. He was known as St Francis for his legendary deeds.

I thought this was going to be about Paul's bathroom renovations.
