It's extremely disappointing that the results of the b&f vote were published on the AFL site before the count today.

If the result isn't going to be kept a surprise for the silvertails ( ;D ) on the night it would be good to bring back the count for the common garden variety supporters on Family Day like has been done in the past.

Why would the votes be pre-counted anyway?

A family day count would be great lots of money to be made from sales of sausages, beverages, face painting, merchandise and the opportunity for the kids and the young at heart to get photos taken with the players. Autographs as well a good thing or at least a presentation day to give the player the medal if the silvertails want the count kept.

Yep bring back the family day and allow for the littlies to have a big day at Tigerland with their heroes.
Must agree very dissapointing to hear that results were leaked. WHO DID IT ???

Congrats to Bowden, he did deserve to win.

Poor Richo, second yet again ...

Perhaps so the awards can be engraved? Or maybe to ensure that the same person doesn't win the Jack Dyer medal and the Encouragement Award?

Or maybe so that the winner can be surreptitiously served light beer instead of heavy through the night to ensure the speech is decent?

So, I'm going to be checking AFL.com tonight about 7pm to see who has won the Brownlow. If it's early enough, I might even call a bookie and make some money :hihi

All the more reason to bring back the count in front of supporters at family day.

You're not wrong. If this leak proves correct as well, how pathetic is that? :(

Ever since I've had a family (4 years), there has been 1 Family Day, and a 'Family' Friday night event.

I would love to take the kids to a Sunday afternoon at Punt Road to get faces painted, T-Shirts signed and eat sausage or two. The club is in danger of losing touch with it's grass root supporters by not having family days.

Just seems like another opportunity to generate some more supporter interest and financial input lost. I know we need to court the corporates and the likes, but please not at the continual expense of the grass roots supporter. Just curious, who would've been present during counting?

I wonder if there was a late splurge on Joel after the results were prematurely made public. There was a space of quite a few hours between the results being on the AFL site and the official announcement. Wish I'd thought of it. ;D
