Do Richmond have a realistic chance to win the flag in 2006?

Yes we can win the premiership in 2006!

A number of elements have to fall into place - all at the same time - just like ALL premiership teams!

We have a chance - the secret will be to make the top 4 - from there we can launch an assault. Remember after round 9 in 2005 when Browny stated that we are a chance at the top 4 - he broke his leg and the rest is history.

I personally go into this season with confidence that the Tigers will roar in 2006! Why?

1) Our guys will have a second pre-season campaign under TW - they are starting from a fitter base this time around!
2) Our mid-field will be strengthened, faster and smarter with another year under their belts.
3) TW has intimated that we will have another brand/style of footy which will add to his new style introduced in 2005
4) Younger team members will start to show what they are capable of!
5) Older members will be brought into the play by the younger guys struting their stuff.
6) The great unknown quantity - the X factor - will begin to emerge - and finally
7) Lady Luck is due to smile upon us!

So yes come September 2006 when we are sitting heroically in 2nd or 3rd spot - with the minor premiers West Coast having a huge problem with injuries - Adelaide and St Kilda the others in the top 4 faltering - it becomes a whole new "ball-game".

And when the mighty Tigers run onto the MCG for the game of their lives - the 2006 Grand Final - the roar of the Tiger Army will boom across the ground and I will be choked with emotion and filled with excitement all at the same time - remembering all the hard times of the last 20+ years but also wanting the young Tigers to play the great footy that has got them into the big one!

I'm with you on this one. Shine on you crazy diamond.

I believe we've all got a lot more to look forward to not only in 2006, but in the next few years.  All I ever ask and want is for the team to be competitive and put in 100%, if that results in more wins than losses, fantastic, (most of us, including me, go to the games hoping and wanting to win), as long as we are competitive and have given our all, I'll walk away satisfied.  I don't know about making or even winning the flag, but surely a top 8 spot is something I'm looking forward to next year.  The dark days of 2003 and 2004 are well and truly over!

Go Tiges!

We may not win the flag and may well lose more games then we win but for the first time in a long time I dont think there is a game we couldnt win either.I know a lot will disagree but at this stage there is no unbeatable side such as Brissy from previous years and every side has significant weaknesses, given a bit of luck with injuries and some natural progression from the young guys I think we could beat anyone on our day ,funny game this Aussie Rules
