How many times do we get injuries to key players..

1) Tony Free - Captain anf finsished a great players career very early.

2) Richo - 2 knees

3) Justin Charles when he was on song (hip)

4) Nathan Brown (leg)

5) Gaspar (knee)

6) Campbell (Achilles - never the same afterwards)

Im sure there are more, i know its part of the game but injuries at certain times have cost our club very dearly.

Good luck to Will and heres to a very speedy recovery, lets hope he doesnt lose his pace and work hard in the gym son becasue you have a future at Tigerland.

Add Scott Turner and his chronic puss hole behind his patella and Draga with the two knees.

I am gutted after what happened to Will and finding hard to accept that a gem like he can go down like it is very disappointing.

But wasn't it refreshing watching the younger guys do well tonight even though the loss was unacceptable there was some light there.

The sooner the club realises that we are going nowhere fast with the likes of Gaspar and Kellaway the better.

I think if you matched Richmond up against most other teams in the league you'd probably find that the occurrence of injuries is pretty much the same. I only remember Richo doing one knee, the other injury that kept him out for most of 2000 was his foot. Duncan Kellaway did both knees. Dragicevic looked like being a really promising player until he did his knee (twice).

dont believe we have bad luck at all. every team has its bad injuries we just have never had the depth to cover them. Try tell Luke Darcy or Michael Voss or Brendon Lade that we have bad luck i'll bet they'll soon tell you to stop ya whinging and get your &^%$# together.

oh and another thing, Thursfield is young and will be back this time next year. He has age on his side and will mature alot from this recovery. Sort of a morbid way to FAST TRACK a youngster really.

dont get so down on thursfield, he'll be back

No, its just the unlike most clubs richmond has never had the depth to cover its injuries. The Brown injury last year showed that - we were effectively a one man team.

Those that only focus on their own clubs always whinge that "their" team is unlucky in one area or another (injuries, umpiring, draw, whatever).

Richmond has had a dream run with injuries (in comparison to most other clubs) leading up to the start of this season, but it didn't help us prevent getting thrashed last week by a side that was virtually crippled by the injuries to their big men.

Injuries in general just make our bad situation a little worse, last night's aren't that important in the context of this season as both players are hardly regular senior selections that we rely on week after week, but one of the injuries will set back a potentially promising career by at least a year.

If the increasingly injury-prone Schulz was worth signing to an extended contract on his "potential", then Thursfield is equally deserving of a contract extension right now on the "potential" he has shown in his brief senior career.
