Do we need a ready made ruckman next season?

Interesting the views of an extra boundary umpire on the rucks.

Takes me back to 1980, when Mark Lee would ruck in the midfield, Emmet Dunne in defense and David Cloke up forward.

"The more things change, the more they stay the same."

Something that may have already been considered with Simmonds rucking and playing up forward with Seaby and Graham operating the ruck and backline?

I think they will abolish the rule personally, not one of the 16 coaches are happy with it and when the Players Association voice their concern the rule will be scrapped. That's just my opinion.

we are not doing to win the grand final next year so how are we doomed if simmonds goes down scoop?

we do not need to panic, clubs who panic pay over the odds for average players.

It's not about making a grand final, it's about just being competitive. Without Simmonds we cannot break even in the ruck, have a look at 2007. At certain times Shane Tuck was doing ruckwork, Pattison was getting smashed and we got flogged out the middle putting our backline under immense pressure.
